Chapter 95
โMiss Enna, donโt worry. Anyone who took money from the Hart family wonโt get away with it. They got that house the dirty way. Now they have to give it back,โ Lana assured.
Over the years, the Hart Corporation had become just an empty shell, and a big reason for that was all the money Linda took from Aiden. With that cash, Linda moved all her relatives into the villas and gave them jobs at Hart Corporation.
Linda and Jocelyn rushed to the next villa. After all, they had more than one house.
But they hadnโt even been there ten minutes when the same group of people burst in again. After a heated argument, the intruders started shoving them around.
The same thing happened at several properties. In the end, they were left standing on the side of the road, their clothes in tatters, faces bruised, with the bleak wind blowing around them.
Jocelyn completely snapped. Her eyes were bloodshot with murderous rage as she screamed, โSienna, Iโm going to kill you. I swear Iโll make sure you die.โ
Linda was trying to hail a cab, planning to go back to her parentsโ house. โJocelyn, donโt be in such a hurry. Once your dad returns, weโll be back at the Hart residence.โ
Jocelynโs anger only burned hotter when she heard her motherโs ridiculous fantasy.
What a hopeless fool. She still thinks Aiden is going to save us? Jocelyn wondered. Couldnโt she see that Aiden isnโt even worth a damn in front of Sienna? Sienna, I really underestimated you this time.
I thought Aiden could keep Sienna in check. Turns out heโs useless. Or maybe Siennaโs just that ruthless; she had her own father locked up in a psych ward. She doesnโt deserve to be called a daughter.
โEnough. Stop bringing up Aiden and just call a cab,โ Jocelyn snapped.
With a loud smack, Linda slapped her hard across the face.
Jocelyn was stunned, her cheek burning with pain that cut straight to her core. Sheโd already been slapped around by those people, and now even her mother had hit her.
โYou hit me?โ Jocelyn stared at Linda in disbelief, eyes wide. Has she lost her mind? she wondered.
Linda glared at her, furious, โJocelyn, how dare you call your dad by his name? No respect for your elders at all. Youโve really let me down. Heโs your father.โ
Jocelyn clenched her fists, hating Lindaโs ignorance. Through gritted teeth, she said, โYou know better than anyone if heโs really my father.โ
โYouโre just sitting here waiting, but do you honestly think Aiden is coming back for you? He canโt even save himself right now. You think heโd care about you? Keep dreaming.โ
Lindaโs face changed instantly. โWhat nonsense are you spouting?โ
Jocelyn sneered, โItโs the truth. You canโt seriously believe Aiden loves you, can you? If he really did, would he let you suffer like this? You get beaten, and he doesnโt even care. If you died, heโd probably be relieved.โ
โJocelyn, shut up. Shut your damn mouth up,โ Linda screamed, lunging at her.
Linda came at Jocelyn, clawing and swinging. The two of them ended up in a wild, messy fight, tearing at each other in the street.
Sienna watched the whole scene unfold from not far away. She snapped her fingers, and a man stealthily crept up to them, swiping their phones, shoes, and bags.
By the time Linda and Jocelyn realized what had happened, everything on them was already gone.
After venting all their anger, the two of them lay on the ground, gasping for breath. From their faces, it was clear that theyโd both gone all out, no mercy at all.
Jocelyn kept mocking Linda, hoping Linda would finally stop being so delusional and face reality.
โTell me where Iโm wrong, Linda. Itโs about time you woke up. I donโt want to waste my breath arguing with you anymore. Right now, we need to find somewhere to sleep,โ Jocelyn said.
Linda spat on the ground, dusted herself off, and stood up. โIf it werenโt for you, I wouldโve already gotten a cab. Wait. Whereโs my phone? My phoneโs gone. And my bag too.โ
Hearing that, Jocelyn whipped around, scanning the area. All their stuff had vanished. โSomeone mustโve stolen it. Quick, call the police,โ she said.
Linda snapped, โCall the police? With what? Our phones are gone.โ
Jocelyn was so mad she could scream, grinding her teeth. โThis is all your fault.โ
โMy fault? Jocelyn, if it wasnโt for your stupid ideas, would we have been kicked out? And now you have the nerve to blame me?โ Linda shot back.
The more Linda thought about it, the more bitter she felt. If it hadnโt been for Jocelynโs dumb plan, she wouldnโt have ended up like this. She used to be the glamorous mistress of the Hart family.
Jocelyn sneered at her, thinking. What a clueless idiot. Even now, sheโs still so naive, only seeing the surface. Couldnโt she see Sienna left us in the house just to make us suffer?
Didnโt all the unfair treatment we have been through lately all feel a little too familiar? Those are the same tricks we once used on the Hart sisters. Now, every bit of it is coming back to bite us.
