Chapter 95

โ€œMiss Enna, donโ€™t worry. Anyone who took money from the Hart family wonโ€™t get away with it. They got that house the dirty way. Now they have to give it back,โ€ Lana assured.

Over the years, the Hart Corporation had become just an empty shell, and a big reason for that was all the money Linda took from Aiden. With that cash, Linda moved all her relatives into the villas and gave them jobs at Hart Corporation.

Linda and Jocelyn rushed to the next villa. After all, they had more than one house.

But they hadnโ€™t even been there ten minutes when the same group of people burst in again. After a heated argument, the intruders started shoving them around.

The same thing happened at several properties. In the end, they were left standing on the side of the road, their clothes in tatters, faces bruised, with the bleak wind blowing around them.

Jocelyn completely snapped. Her eyes were bloodshot with murderous rage as she screamed, โ€œSienna, Iโ€™m going to kill you. I swear Iโ€™ll make sure you die.โ€

Linda was trying to hail a cab, planning to go back to her parentsโ€˜ house. โ€œJocelyn, donโ€™t be in such a hurry. Once your dad returns, weโ€™ll be back at the Hart residence.โ€

Jocelynโ€™s anger only burned hotter when she heard her motherโ€™s ridiculous fantasy.

What a hopeless fool. She still thinks Aiden is going to save us? Jocelyn wondered. Couldnโ€™t she see that Aiden isnโ€™t even worth a damn in front of Sienna? Sienna, I really underestimated you this time.

I thought Aiden could keep Sienna in check. Turns out heโ€™s useless. Or maybe Siennaโ€™s just that ruthless; she had her own father locked up in a psych ward. She doesnโ€™t deserve to be called a daughter.

โ€œEnough. Stop bringing up Aiden and just call a cab,โ€ Jocelyn snapped.

With a loud smack, Linda slapped her hard across the face.

Jocelyn was stunned, her cheek burning with pain that cut straight to her core. Sheโ€™d already been slapped around by those people, and now even her mother had hit her.

โ€œYou hit me?โ€ Jocelyn stared at Linda in disbelief, eyes wide. Has she lost her mind? she wondered.

Linda glared at her, furious, โ€œJocelyn, how dare you call your dad by his name? No respect for your elders at all. Youโ€™ve really let me down. Heโ€™s your father.โ€

Jocelyn clenched her fists, hating Lindaโ€™s ignorance. Through gritted teeth, she said, โ€œYou know better than anyone if heโ€™s really my father.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re just sitting here waiting, but do you honestly think Aiden is coming back for you? He canโ€™t even save himself right now. You think heโ€™d care about you? Keep dreaming.โ€

Lindaโ€™s face changed instantly. โ€œWhat nonsense are you spouting?โ€

Jocelyn sneered, โ€œItโ€™s the truth. You canโ€™t seriously believe Aiden loves you, can you? If he really did, would he let you suffer like this? You get beaten, and he doesnโ€™t even care. If you died, heโ€™d probably be relieved.โ€

โ€œJocelyn, shut up. Shut your damn mouth up,โ€ Linda screamed, lunging at her.

Linda came at Jocelyn, clawing and swinging. The two of them ended up in a wild, messy fight, tearing at each other in the street.

Sienna watched the whole scene unfold from not far away. She snapped her fingers, and a man stealthily crept up to them, swiping their phones, shoes, and bags.

By the time Linda and Jocelyn realized what had happened, everything on them was already gone.

After venting all their anger, the two of them lay on the ground, gasping for breath. From their faces, it was clear that theyโ€™d both gone all out, no mercy at all.

Jocelyn kept mocking Linda, hoping Linda would finally stop being so delusional and face reality.

โ€œTell me where Iโ€™m wrong, Linda. Itโ€™s about time you woke up. I donโ€™t want to waste my breath arguing with you anymore. Right now, we need to find somewhere to sleep,โ€ Jocelyn said.

Linda spat on the ground, dusted herself off, and stood up. โ€œIf it werenโ€™t for you, I wouldโ€™ve already gotten a cab. Wait. Whereโ€™s my phone? My phoneโ€™s gone. And my bag too.โ€

Hearing that, Jocelyn whipped around, scanning the area. All their stuff had vanished. โ€œSomeone mustโ€™ve stolen it. Quick, call the police,โ€ she said.

Linda snapped, โ€œCall the police? With what? Our phones are gone.โ€

Jocelyn was so mad she could scream, grinding her teeth. โ€œThis is all your fault.โ€

โ€œMy fault? Jocelyn, if it wasnโ€™t for your stupid ideas, would we have been kicked out? And now you have the nerve to blame me?โ€ Linda shot back.

The more Linda thought about it, the more bitter she felt. If it hadnโ€™t been for Jocelynโ€™s dumb plan, she wouldnโ€™t have ended up like this. She used to be the glamorous mistress of the Hart family.

Jocelyn sneered at her, thinking. What a clueless idiot. Even now, sheโ€™s still so naive, only seeing the surface. Couldnโ€™t she see Sienna left us in the house just to make us suffer?

Didnโ€™t all the unfair treatment we have been through lately all feel a little too familiar? Those are the same tricks we once used on the Hart sisters. Now, every bit of it is coming back to bite us.
