Chapter 94

Sienna cut her off, โ€œOkay, let me set the record straight. For the past ten years, I have had amnesia. I survived the accident, but lost all my memories. Only recently did I get them back. And before you start imagining some tragic soap opera, donโ€™t worry. I was adopted by a rich couple and, honestly, I lived pretty well.โ€

Hearing that, Nora finally managed to hold back her tears, sniffled, and let out a sigh of relief. โ€œGood, thatโ€™s a relief.โ€

Nora stared at her with big, hopeful eyes. โ€œSo, are you married?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Sienna shook her head.

โ€œGot a boyfriend then? Whereโ€™s he from?โ€ Nora pressed.

Sienna just stood there, lost for words.

โ€œOkay, letโ€™s change the subject. Did you know your dad got remarried? The womanโ€™s name is Linda Lambert,โ€ Nora said, eager to gossip and fill Sienna in on everything that happened over the past ten years.

โ€œYeah, I know. No big deal. Thereโ€™s nothing to worry about. The Hart family is in my hands now. They canโ€™t make any waves,โ€ Sienna replied coolly.

โ€œEnna, you really are something. So, should we grab a bite to eat first, or go do something fun?โ€ Nora asked, rubbing her hands together in excitement.

Sienna said, โ€œIโ€™ve still got some things to take care of, so I might not have much free time right now. But I already know whatโ€™s going on with you. If you ever run into any trouble, hereโ€™s how you can reach me. Just call, and Iโ€™ll come right away.โ€

Nora lowered her eyes, her voice tinged with disappointment. โ€œDid I let you down? Iโ€™m almost thirty, and everyone says that as long as Iโ€™m divorced, no one will want me. They all call me a used-up girl.โ€

Sienna held her by the shoulders and spoke seriously, โ€œThatโ€™s just what other people say. If you let them define you, how are you any different from a puppet? Nora, do you remember what I always told you? Never lose yourself.โ€

Nora stared at Sienna in a daze, then gave a firm nod. โ€˜Yeah, thatโ€™s just what they say about me. But it doesnโ€™t have to be who I am,โ€™ she realized. โ€˜Iโ€™m not some used-up girl. Iโ€™m the proud heiress of the Sinclair family.โ€™

โ€œEnna, I get it now. Thank you. When I get the chance, Iโ€™ll bring my son to meet you. Heโ€™s absolutely adorable. Youโ€™ll love him for sure,โ€ Nora said.

Nora said her goodbyes, reluctant to part. She knew Sienna had her things to handle, her plans, and life. Nora couldnโ€™t just selfishly cling to Sienna, no matter how much she wanted to.

But it was only temporary. Once Nora got divorced, sheโ€™d totally move in with Sienna and live together.

โ€œAlright, just call me if you need anything,โ€ Sienna said.

โ€œYeah, I will,โ€ Nora promised.

Sienna got into the car, glancing back at Nora standing alone at the intersection, her white dress fluttering in the wind, hair dancing softly around her shoulders.

โ€œMiss Enna, Linda and Jocelyn are currently staying at Villa 28. That villa was purchased by Mr. Hart. All the properties registered under Linda and Jocelynโ€™s names will be repossessed tonight,โ€ Lana reported.

Sienna sat in the car, her long, delicate hand reaching out the window. โ€œLetโ€™s enjoy the show.โ€

โ€œYes, Miss Enna,โ€ Lana replied respectfully.

Lana was a little on edge, worried that the people sheโ€™d arranged might screw things up and end up making Miss Enna unhappy.

But as she heard the ruckus coming from inside, Lana finally started to relax a bit.

Linda and Jocelyn were sprawled out on the couch, badmouthing Sienna, when the door was suddenly kicked open.

Over a dozen thuggish-looking guys stormed in, all with nasty looks on their faces, their eyes roaming over the mother and daughter in a way that made your skin crawl.

โ€œWho are you people? What do you want? This is my house! Get out right now or Iโ€™m calling the police!โ€ Linda yelled.

โ€œCall the cops? Go ahead. But do you even know where youโ€™re living? This place isnโ€™t yours. Got it? Now get out of here, and move it,โ€ the leader of the group said.

Jocelyn stood up, trying to keep things calm. โ€œHey, guys, maybe thereโ€™s been a mistake? This house belongs to my mom.โ€

Linda shouted, โ€œYeah, itโ€™s ours. My husband gave me this house.โ€

The leader pulled out the documents and waved them in their faces. โ€œSee this? Itโ€™s got Aidenโ€™s name on it. The money he used to buy this place came from Hart Corporation. Thatโ€™s Miss Ennaโ€™s money. So now, this house belongs to Miss Enna. Youโ€™ve got three minutes to get out. If youโ€™re still here after that, donโ€™t blame us for what happens next.โ€

When Linda heard that, she completely lost it, flailing around like a madwoman. She screamed, โ€œBullshit! Iโ€™m Aidenโ€™s wife. He bought this house for me. Why the hell canโ€™t I live here? Who the hell do you think you are? Youโ€™re the ones who should be getting out, not us.โ€

Jocelyn frowned, a flicker of hatred starting to show in her eyes. โ€˜Itโ€™s always Sienna,โ€™ she thought.

โ€œAidenโ€™s wife? Oh, really? Whereโ€™s your marriage certificate? Go on, and show it to me,โ€ the guy scoffed.

Linda shot them a vicious glare. โ€˜Marriage certificate? Why does everyone keep harping on that?โ€™ she fumed inwardly.

The problem was, Aiden never even wanted to get a marriage certificate with her.

โ€œEven if you are Aidenโ€™s wife, so what? This place belongs to Miss Enna. Stop stalling. Grab your stuff and get out, right now. You hear me?โ€ He squinted, giving the two of them a cold, sweeping look.

Linda threw herself on the floor, making a huge scene. โ€œIโ€™m not leaving. No way. Why should I? Iโ€™m Aidenโ€™s wife and Siennaโ€™s stepmom. You have no right to kick me out.โ€

Jocelyn quickly added, โ€œYou canโ€™t just show up suddenly like this. At least give us some time. Three days? Just give us three days and weโ€™ll go.โ€

Smack. The man slapped Jocelyn hard across the face. He sneered, โ€œDonโ€™t push your luck. Youโ€™re living in someone elseโ€™s house, and you still think you can bargain with us? If you donโ€™t leave, then just stand there and take it. Boys, show them what happens when people donโ€™t listen.โ€

โ€œYou bastards, how dare you hit my daughter? Youโ€™re all asking for it. Youโ€™re dead meat!โ€ Linda screamed, lunging at them. But the man just kicked her, sending her sprawling a few feet away.

โ€œHey, youโ€™re pretty cute. My boss sure didnโ€™t hold back. Why donโ€™t you two stay and keep us company for a few nights? Weโ€™ll make sure youโ€™re well taken care of, how about it?โ€ A scrawny guy stepped up and yanked Jocelyn by the hair.

Jocelyn was seething with rage, her fists clenched so hard her long nails were nearly breaking. โ€œLetโ€™s go,โ€ she spat out.

โ€˜Sienna, Iโ€™ll remember this humiliation,โ€™ Jocelyn swore to herself. โ€˜One day, Iโ€™ll make you pay for this a hundred times over.โ€™

Linda, whoโ€™d just been kicked, didnโ€™t dare say another word. She quickly packed up and left, but inside, she was seething with hatred for Sienna.

Linda wished she could skin Sienna alive, tear her to pieces, and make her suffer a thousand deaths.

โ€˜Sienna, you bitch. Just you wait,โ€™ Linda cursed in her heart. โ€˜You will pay for it.โ€™

Lana watched the two of them in such a sorry state and couldnโ€™t help but ask, โ€œMiss Enna, I donโ€™t understand. Why didnโ€™t you just kick them out from the very beginning? Wouldnโ€™t that have saved a lot of trouble?โ€ Lana wondered.

Siennaโ€™s eyes darkened. โ€œLana, sometimes you canโ€™t just judge things by appearances. Think about it. If I had kicked them out right away, would Amber still be staying with the Hart residence?โ€

โ€˜No, she wouldnโ€™t. And would Vivian ever be able to step out from under their shadow?โ€™ Sienna wondered.

โ€œMiss Enna, I get it now,โ€ Lana said, nodding.

These days, life at the Hart residence was anything but easy for Linda and Jocelyn. Going hungry, getting smacked around, and being locked up in the dark were just another day for them.

At first, Vivian was a bit scared of them, probably because theyโ€™d bullied her before. But lately, itโ€™s been all Vivian giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Sienna said coolly, โ€œWerenโ€™t they always the ones kicking people out of the house? Well, starting today, let them have a taste of their own medicine. By the way, whatโ€™s the situation with Lindaโ€™s relatives?โ€
