Chapter 94
Sienna cut her off, โOkay, let me set the record straight. For the past ten years, I have had amnesia. I survived the accident, but lost all my memories. Only recently did I get them back. And before you start imagining some tragic soap opera, donโt worry. I was adopted by a rich couple and, honestly, I lived pretty well.โ
Hearing that, Nora finally managed to hold back her tears, sniffled, and let out a sigh of relief. โGood, thatโs a relief.โ
Nora stared at her with big, hopeful eyes. โSo, are you married?โ
โNo,โ Sienna shook her head.
โGot a boyfriend then? Whereโs he from?โ Nora pressed.
Sienna just stood there, lost for words.
โOkay, letโs change the subject. Did you know your dad got remarried? The womanโs name is Linda Lambert,โ Nora said, eager to gossip and fill Sienna in on everything that happened over the past ten years.
โYeah, I know. No big deal. Thereโs nothing to worry about. The Hart family is in my hands now. They canโt make any waves,โ Sienna replied coolly.
โEnna, you really are something. So, should we grab a bite to eat first, or go do something fun?โ Nora asked, rubbing her hands together in excitement.
Sienna said, โIโve still got some things to take care of, so I might not have much free time right now. But I already know whatโs going on with you. If you ever run into any trouble, hereโs how you can reach me. Just call, and Iโll come right away.โ
Nora lowered her eyes, her voice tinged with disappointment. โDid I let you down? Iโm almost thirty, and everyone says that as long as Iโm divorced, no one will want me. They all call me a used-up girl.โ
Sienna held her by the shoulders and spoke seriously, โThatโs just what other people say. If you let them define you, how are you any different from a puppet? Nora, do you remember what I always told you? Never lose yourself.โ
Nora stared at Sienna in a daze, then gave a firm nod. โYeah, thatโs just what they say about me. But it doesnโt have to be who I am,โ she realized. โIโm not some used-up girl. Iโm the proud heiress of the Sinclair family.โ
โEnna, I get it now. Thank you. When I get the chance, Iโll bring my son to meet you. Heโs absolutely adorable. Youโll love him for sure,โ Nora said.
Nora said her goodbyes, reluctant to part. She knew Sienna had her things to handle, her plans, and life. Nora couldnโt just selfishly cling to Sienna, no matter how much she wanted to.
But it was only temporary. Once Nora got divorced, sheโd totally move in with Sienna and live together.
โAlright, just call me if you need anything,โ Sienna said.
โYeah, I will,โ Nora promised.
Sienna got into the car, glancing back at Nora standing alone at the intersection, her white dress fluttering in the wind, hair dancing softly around her shoulders.
โMiss Enna, Linda and Jocelyn are currently staying at Villa 28. That villa was purchased by Mr. Hart. All the properties registered under Linda and Jocelynโs names will be repossessed tonight,โ Lana reported.
Sienna sat in the car, her long, delicate hand reaching out the window. โLetโs enjoy the show.โ
โYes, Miss Enna,โ Lana replied respectfully.
Lana was a little on edge, worried that the people sheโd arranged might screw things up and end up making Miss Enna unhappy.
But as she heard the ruckus coming from inside, Lana finally started to relax a bit.
Linda and Jocelyn were sprawled out on the couch, badmouthing Sienna, when the door was suddenly kicked open.
Over a dozen thuggish-looking guys stormed in, all with nasty looks on their faces, their eyes roaming over the mother and daughter in a way that made your skin crawl.
โWho are you people? What do you want? This is my house! Get out right now or Iโm calling the police!โ Linda yelled.
โCall the cops? Go ahead. But do you even know where youโre living? This place isnโt yours. Got it? Now get out of here, and move it,โ the leader of the group said.
Jocelyn stood up, trying to keep things calm. โHey, guys, maybe thereโs been a mistake? This house belongs to my mom.โ
Linda shouted, โYeah, itโs ours. My husband gave me this house.โ
The leader pulled out the documents and waved them in their faces. โSee this? Itโs got Aidenโs name on it. The money he used to buy this place came from Hart Corporation. Thatโs Miss Ennaโs money. So now, this house belongs to Miss Enna. Youโve got three minutes to get out. If youโre still here after that, donโt blame us for what happens next.โ
When Linda heard that, she completely lost it, flailing around like a madwoman. She screamed, โBullshit! Iโm Aidenโs wife. He bought this house for me. Why the hell canโt I live here? Who the hell do you think you are? Youโre the ones who should be getting out, not us.โ
Jocelyn frowned, a flicker of hatred starting to show in her eyes. โItโs always Sienna,โ she thought.
โAidenโs wife? Oh, really? Whereโs your marriage certificate? Go on, and show it to me,โ the guy scoffed.
Linda shot them a vicious glare. โMarriage certificate? Why does everyone keep harping on that?โ she fumed inwardly.
The problem was, Aiden never even wanted to get a marriage certificate with her.
โEven if you are Aidenโs wife, so what? This place belongs to Miss Enna. Stop stalling. Grab your stuff and get out, right now. You hear me?โ He squinted, giving the two of them a cold, sweeping look.
Linda threw herself on the floor, making a huge scene. โIโm not leaving. No way. Why should I? Iโm Aidenโs wife and Siennaโs stepmom. You have no right to kick me out.โ
Jocelyn quickly added, โYou canโt just show up suddenly like this. At least give us some time. Three days? Just give us three days and weโll go.โ
Smack. The man slapped Jocelyn hard across the face. He sneered, โDonโt push your luck. Youโre living in someone elseโs house, and you still think you can bargain with us? If you donโt leave, then just stand there and take it. Boys, show them what happens when people donโt listen.โ
โYou bastards, how dare you hit my daughter? Youโre all asking for it. Youโre dead meat!โ Linda screamed, lunging at them. But the man just kicked her, sending her sprawling a few feet away.
โHey, youโre pretty cute. My boss sure didnโt hold back. Why donโt you two stay and keep us company for a few nights? Weโll make sure youโre well taken care of, how about it?โ A scrawny guy stepped up and yanked Jocelyn by the hair.
Jocelyn was seething with rage, her fists clenched so hard her long nails were nearly breaking. โLetโs go,โ she spat out.
โSienna, Iโll remember this humiliation,โ Jocelyn swore to herself. โOne day, Iโll make you pay for this a hundred times over.โ
Linda, whoโd just been kicked, didnโt dare say another word. She quickly packed up and left, but inside, she was seething with hatred for Sienna.
Linda wished she could skin Sienna alive, tear her to pieces, and make her suffer a thousand deaths.
โSienna, you bitch. Just you wait,โ Linda cursed in her heart. โYou will pay for it.โ
Lana watched the two of them in such a sorry state and couldnโt help but ask, โMiss Enna, I donโt understand. Why didnโt you just kick them out from the very beginning? Wouldnโt that have saved a lot of trouble?โ Lana wondered.
Siennaโs eyes darkened. โLana, sometimes you canโt just judge things by appearances. Think about it. If I had kicked them out right away, would Amber still be staying with the Hart residence?โ
โNo, she wouldnโt. And would Vivian ever be able to step out from under their shadow?โ Sienna wondered.
โMiss Enna, I get it now,โ Lana said, nodding.
These days, life at the Hart residence was anything but easy for Linda and Jocelyn. Going hungry, getting smacked around, and being locked up in the dark were just another day for them.
At first, Vivian was a bit scared of them, probably because theyโd bullied her before. But lately, itโs been all Vivian giving them a taste of their own medicine.
Sienna said coolly, โWerenโt they always the ones kicking people out of the house? Well, starting today, let them have a taste of their own medicine. By the way, whatโs the situation with Lindaโs relatives?โ
