Chapter 97
Amber stormed into the room, her face flushed with anger.
Amber had only been gone for less than three minutes. When she came back, she saw Vivian shamelessly sneak into her room and steal her candy. That was the candy Sienna gave Amber.
Vivian jumped at the sound of Amberโs voice, her soul nearly flying out of her body. She almost choked on the candy in her mouth. She patted her chest, finally managing to swallow it down.
โVivian, drop it, right now. Thatโs my candy,โ Amber yelled, reaching out to snatch it from her.
Vivian panicked, kicked off her slippers, and dashed onto Amberโs bed in a desperate attempt to escape.
โDo you see your name written on this candy or something? How can you prove itโs yours? Sienna bought this candy. Why shouldnโt I get to have some?" Vivian shot back, defiant as ever.
Amberโs eyes reddened with anger, her fists clenched tight as she scrambled onto the bed. โVivian, you total rascal, you shameless thief. Iโve never seen anyone as brazen as you. Give it back. My sister bought that for me. Itโs mine. I swear, Iโll beat you up for stealing my candy.โ
Vivian sneered, โAmber, who are you calling sister? Isnโt your sister Jocelyn? Stop pretending youโre family.โ
โYouโVivian, youโre the worst,โ Amber snapped.
Amber was done arguing with her. She pounced, tackling Vivian onto the bed and wrestling her down, going straight for the candy in her pocket.
โGive it back. Thatโs my candy. Thatโs mine,โ Amber yelled, her voice almost breaking with frustration.
Amber went wild, yanking at Vivianโs clothes like a madwoman. Vivian shrieked, โMy clothes? Amber, you crazy cow. Let go. Stop pulling. Youโre going to rip them!"
โOh, so youโre getting serious now, huh? Donโt think Iโm scared of you. Come at me, letโs see whoโs boss.โ
โVivian, you really have a death wish, donโt you?โ Amber snarled, her fury reaching its peak. The two sisters were wrestling and tugging at each otherโs hair and clothes, locked in a chaotic scuffle.
Vivian was no match for Amber, who went absolutely crazy yanking her hair. And Amberโs hair was short and always so slippery.
What kind of shampoo does she use? I always end up getting the short end of the stick in these fights, Amber wondered.
โVivian, donโt even think about taking a single piece of my candy. Not a chance,โ Amber shouted, her voice fierce with determination. Amber grabbed back every last piece of candy Vivian had tried to steal.
Vivian wasnโt about to back down. She snatched up a piece of candy and popped it into her mouth. โI already ate it, so what are you going to do about it, Amber? Huh? What?โ
Vivian shot her a triumphant grin, looking as smug as ever.
Amberโs eyes widened in fury as she lunged forward. Vivian jerked back in a panic, and suddenly, the candy got stuck in her throat.
Vivian froze, her face turning purple, then pale, as she reached up and pounded her chest, desperately trying to dislodge the candy.
Seeing Vivian choking like that, Amber rushed over, got behind her, and started doing the Heimlich maneuver.
Vivian couldnโt believe Amber was actually helping her. She was so shocked. After a few minutes, Vivian finally coughed up the candy, then flopped back on the bed, gasping for breath.
โAmber, I almost choked to death. If Iโd died, itโd be all your fault. Youโd be the killer,โ Vivian gasped, still catching her breath.
Amber, completely worn out, flopped down beside her. โYou totally brought this on yourself, Vivian. Even if youโd died, it wouldnโt have had anything to do with me. Trying to blame me for your own mess? What a joke.โ
Vivian turned to look at her. Amberโs delicate cheeks were tinged with a rosy flush, and her charming, mischievous eyes narrowed in a proud little squint.
Amber looked all soft and adorable on the outside, but only Vivian knew just how infuriating this girl could be.
โHey, Amber, tell me. What kind of shady move did you pull to make Sienna take you to the amusement park?โ Vivian shot her a look, her voice full of accusation.
Amber rolled her eyes at Vivian. โYou think Iโm like you, always playing dirty? Please, Iโm not as shameless as you are. Sienna basically dragged me there. I didnโt even want to go, but she wouldnโt take no for an answer. Total headache.โ
Vivian clenched her teeth, spitting out each word. โAmber, who are you trying to fool in front of me? Careful you donโt pop from all that bragging.โ
Amber shot back with a sneer, โJust because you canโt have it, you act all bitter. You donโt even know your worth, and you still think you can measure up to me?โ
Vivian shot her a glare, her big eyes round and innocent, her sweet, gentle face making her look like the picture of innocence. Anyone watching would think Amber was the one bullying her.
But in truth, Vivian was the one getting picked on here.
Vivian couldnโt get the last word in, so she just grabbed some of the scattered candy from the bed, ripped off the wrapper, and tossed it into her mouth.
Amber was about to say something, but then she remembered how Vivian had just choked. She snorted and just let it slide.
Whatever, Iโll just be generous and treat her like a stray dog, Amber thought to herself. Let her have a few pieces. Honestly, itโs like sheโs never had candy in her life.
Meanwhile, at the hotel, Peter kept checking the time. Finally, he heard the sound of the door unlocking. He quickly turned off the lights. The thrill is what makes it fun, after all, he thought to himself.
Richard walked in, but it was so dark he couldnโt see a thing. Just as he reached for the light switch, someone grabbed him from behind, clamped a hand over his mouth, and yanked him onto the bed.
Richard panicked, struggling and muffling his cries until he was thrown down onto the bed with a thud.
Peter was absolutely buzzing with excitement, practically ripping his clothes off in his eagerness.
โDonโt be scared. Iโll make you feel real good. Trust me. Relax. Thereโs nothing to worry about,โ Peter whispered. โI know youโre nervous, but thatโs alright. Iโll comfort you. Come on, let me kiss those sweet lips of yours.โ
Richard almost puked from disgust. So this bastard really was after this all along. Seriously, itโs way too dangerous for girls to go out for business meetings, especially with sleazy old guys like this, he thought.
Richard swore to himself that as soon as he got back, heโd make it a company rule: no more sending women out for business meetings at night.
