Chapter 98
Peter couldnโt get his clothes off fast enough, his heart pounding with excitement. The woman heโd been dreaming about for so long was finally right there in his bed.
Vivian had such a pure, gentle faceโlike the kind of first love that made oneโs heart ache with nostalgia.
In that instant, Peter felt like he was back in his wild, reckless youth.
Just as Richard started to sit up, Peter shoved him back down, his hot, naked, heavy body pressing close, and Richard could unmistakably feel exactly what kind of thing Peter was bringing to the table as a man.
โDamn-โ Richard tried to say, but Peterโs big hand clamped over his mouth again.
โJust wait a bit. Donโt get ahead of yourself,โ Peter said, his voice low and rough.
As he spoke, Peter reached for Richardโs clothes, but something felt off. โWhy is there a belt?โ he wondered.
โAh-โ A sharp pain shot through Peterโs palm, and he yanked his hand back.
Richard exploded, โPeter, you son of a bitch. You shameless bastard. You dirty old pervert. Damn it, open your eyes and see who I am.โ
โYouโ Peter sputtered, furious. He ignored the pain in his hand, his eyes wide with shock. He couldnโt get a word out.
Peter snapped on the light, and when he saw who was actually in the bed, his fat body jerked in shock. He bent over in a panic, frantically grabbing his clothes off the floor.
โRichard? Why the hell is it you? What are you even doing here?โ Peter blurted out.
โIs this guy nuts?โ Peter raged in his head and wondered, โI was supposed to meet Vivian. So what the hell is he doing in my room?
Richard stood up, glaring at Peter. โLook whoโs talking, you dirty man.โ
Peter grabbed a handful of his hair, gritting his teeth. โWait? You didnโt seriously think those roses were for you, did you? Richard, I was trying to give them to-โ
Richardโs eyes narrowed dangerously. โGo on. Whyโd you shut up? Peter, donโt think I wonโt call the cops and have you thrown in jail right now.
โLaying your hands on my employeeโwhat the hell is wrong with you? Sheโs young enough to be your daughter, you filthy old creep. Seriously, did your mom never teach you how to act properly?โ
Peter shot back. โOh, please Richard, weโre all cut from the same cloth here. Who are you trying to fool, acting like youโre some paragon of virtue? Youโre just another sanctimonious old geezer.
โWhy pretend youโre so high and mighty? The way you guard herโwhat, is she your mistress? If you canโt let her go, just admit it. Why keep up the act?โ
Smack. Richard, fuming with rage, strode over and landed two sharp slaps right across Peterโs face.
Peterโs face burned, his cheeks jiggling from the blows. โRichard actually dared to hit me?โ he thought, completely stunned.
Smack. In the next instant, Peter slapped Richard right back. โRichard, donโt take my kindness for granted. Your pathetic little company? I could ruin it with a snap of my fingers,โ Peter sneered.
After saying that, Peter sized Richard up from head to toe, his eyes finally landing on Richardโs face. โHuh, not bad,โ Peter thought to himself.
โIf you want me to forgive you and let you off, then youโll have to spend the night with me,โ Peter said, his voice low and full of threat.
Richard could hardly believe his ears. He wants me to spend the night with him? Richard was completely floored as he wondered, โHow could he be that twisted? Bastardโ
โYeah, right, Iโll spend the fucking night with you,โ Richard shot back with a sneer.
With that, Richard pulled out his brass knuckles and started beating the crap out of Peter, that disgusting old man. โSo shameless at his age,โ Richard thought with disgust.
After Nora got the kids to sleep, she went downstairs, turned on the TV, and started snacking on fruit and treats while catching up on her shows. Anyone could see she was in a great mood.
Chapter 98
Enna was back.
Nora took a bite of mango, and suddenly remembering something, she pulled out her phone and called Enna.
โNora, itโs me. Whatโs up?โ Sienna answered.
When Nora heard Siennaโs voice, she couldnโt help but smile. โNothing, Enna. I just wanted to hear your voice,โ Nora said softly.
Of course, Sienna could see right through Nora. After all, theyโd grown up together.
Sienna let out a helpless sigh. โIโm not dead, Nora. Youโre not imagining things. Iโm really back,โ she said.
โEnna, Iโm just so happy youโre back. Once I get divorced, Iโll bring my son over to live with you,โ Nora said, her voice bubbling with excitement.
โAlright,โ Sienna replied with a gentle laugh.
โItโs settled then,โ Nora grinned.
โOkay,โ Amber replied.
Nora was a total anime geek. She loved bingeโwatching new series and had even invested in dozens of them over the years. But lately, she just hadnโt had the time to keep up, and only now did she realize that quite a few had already finished airing.
โTonight, Iโm going all out and catching up on everything,โ Nora thought, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Whenever she hit an epic scene, Nora got so hyped she nearly tossed her chips in the air like confetti to celebrate.
Inside Charmvale, Ethanโs friends could all tell he was in a bad moodโheโd already gone through several bottles.
โEthan, whatโs up with you? If somethingโs bothering you, just say it. Weโre your bros, weโll help you out, right?โ one of his buddies chimed in.
Ethan shook his head with a bitter smile, leaned back on the couch, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
This morning, heโd gotten up early to make Nora breakfast, but she didnโt even spare it a glance, let alone take a bite. Knowing Nora couldnโt cook, Ethan had sent the chef home just so he could have her all to himself for the day.
But Nora would rather eat salad than even look at the feast heโd made for her.
And the first thing Nora said to him was, โEthan, letโs get a divorce. I donโt want anything except our son. Iโm scared of pain, and this is the only son Iโll ever have in this life. You can have more kids with someone else.โ
Ethan was completely stunned. His heart skipped a beat, and he was thrown into chaos, not even knowing what to do.
Ethan was the one who had brought up the divorce. Heโd said the most hurtful things, telling her straight up he wasnโt interested in her at all anymore. He told her heโd fallen for someone else, and even called her crazy.
Now that Ethan was finally getting what he wanted, all he wanted to do was run away. He didnโt even dare go home.
โWhat else could it be? Itโs just the divorce, right?โ Jason pushed the door open, walked in, took off his glasses, wiped them, and put them back on.
Ethan glanced up at him.
โJason, late again, huh?โ someone said.
Jason sat down. โLastโminute patient.โ
Then, with a halfโsmirk, Jason looked over at Ethan. โWhatโs wrong? Werenโt you the one who kept going on about getting a divorce?
โNora mustโve finally agreed, so what are you waiting for? Once youโre single, you can just bring your secretary home as your new wife. Isnโt that a happy ending for everyone?โ
Ethan didnโt say a word. He just fixed his gaze on Jason, then picked up his glass and knocked it back in one go.
โNo way. Ethan, did Nora really agree to divorce you? That shrew is actually willing to let you go?โ one of the guys blurted out.
Smash. Ethan hurled his glass to the floor, shattering it, and shot him a murderous glare. โSay that again. Who did you just call a shrew?โ Ethan growled, his voice low and dangerous.
The guy was clearly startled, but he was just calling it like he saw it.
Chapter 98
โEthan, come on, itโs Nora Everyone in our circle knows sheโs a total shrew, crazy jealous, blowing up your phone eight hundred times a day, and if she could, sheโd slap a camera on you just to watch your every move,โ the guy said.
Ethanโs anger flared, his fists clenching as he was about to swing, but Jason shot out a hand and clamped down on his arm. Behind his glasses, Jasonโs narrow eyes were full of mockery and disdain.
โWhat, feeling offended now? Werenโt you the one who used to agree with all that? Why bother lying to yourself, trying to act like you had nothing to do with it? Seriously, Ethan, isnโt that just hypocritical?โ Jason taunted.
Ethanโs face went livid, his expression so dark it was almost scary.
โFord, shut up,โ Ethan snapped.
Ethan didnโt even notice heโd called Jason by his former name. Jason used to go by Ford Everett, but later changed it because he thought it sounded unlucky.
โWell? What are you waiting for? Get out,โ Jason barked.
The guy at the table scrambled up and rushed out, muttering lunatic under his breath as he left.
