Chapter 209

“You’re spotting nonsense!” Leu shouted.

But like that… Find all the blame on Noelle. Make…

Hearing the servant’s words, she was secretly delighted and thought, ‘Maria is doing a great job. Yes, just accuse her of murder. I’ll throw her in prison so she’ll never get out for the rest of her life!’

Leia felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.

But on the surface, she still put on an angry act, pretending to stand up for Noelle. “Maria, you’re blaming Noelle for your own doing. You’re slandering an innocent person! I won’t let you get away with it!”

“No! I’m innocent! I’m innocent!” Maria ran as she shouted, “This is clearly a lead within your own family, yet you’re pinning it on me? You people are despicable!”

“Anyone with eyes can see that there’s something wrong with Miss Noelle’s medicine! Why are you trying to frame an old woman like me! There’s no justice in this world!”

“I dare you to say that again!” Leia pretended to be furious.

Maria shouted, “I’ll say it! I’ll say it again!”

At that moment, Bennett had just called an ambulance.

He put his phone down, swept a cold glance at the ridiculous scene Leia was putting on, and then shifted his gaze to Damon, who was still standing frozen in place. His face was pale, and he was lost in thought.

Bennett said, “Damon, what are you waiting for? Either go check on Noelle to see if she needs help, or go inform Charlie and Eli. Stop spacing out.”

“Bennett…” Damon’s face was deathly pale.

Hearing Bennett’s voice seemed to snap him out of his daze.

Just now, a terrifying thought had flashed through his mind. It was so horrifying that he didn’t even dare to think it through.

He murmured, “It can’t be true. There’s no way it is true!”

Just as Damon was about to go find Charlie and Eli, Charlie and Eli had already arrived after hearing the commotion.

As soon as they walked in, they ran into Damon, who was about to step out.

“Damon, what’s going on! Charlie and I heard a lot of noise from here…” Before Eli could finish speaking, a horrible choking sound came from the bed.

Vincent coughed violently, then suddenly spewed out another mouthful of blood. His body convulsed once before falling completely still.

“Vincent!” Kimberly shrieked.

“Dad!” Eli’s eyes widened in horror as he finally noticed the massive pool of blood soaking into the bedsheets, staining Vincent’s clothes, hands, and…

Kimberly clung to Vincent’s unmoving body, wailing in despair.

The siblings rushed to their father’s side, their faces filled with panic.

“Mom, what happened? What’s wrong with Dad?” Eli asked, his voice trembling.

Charlie also asked worriedly, “How did he vomit so much blood? Was he poisoned?”

Damon, still in shock, answered for Kimberly, “Maria brought the medicine, and after Dad drank it, he became like this.”

Bennett maintained his composure and confirmed, “This is definitely poisoning.”

Eli asked in disbelief, “Poison! Who would do something like this?”

Leia walked forward with tearful eyes and said, “Noelle would never poison Dad! I don’t believe it, I just…”

Eli turned to Leia with a confused and shocked expression because no one had said Noelle was the one who poisoned Vincent.

But with Vincent in critical condition, Eli didn’t have time to dwell on it.

Bennett said gravely, “Judging by the symptoms, it looks like a neurotoxin. It…”

“Then what do we do?” Eli asked anxiously, “Bennett, you’re a doctor. Think of something?”

Bennett spread his hands helplessly and said, “Eli, I specialize in surgery. This falls under internal medicine. Besides, isn't Noelle already working on removing the poison?”

Bennett had heard that Noelle was exceptionally skilled in medicine. Now, knowing she was a modified human from the Atraka Nowedon Laboratory, he was curious to see how she would turn things around in this situation.

As for their unconscious father, Bennett was concerned, but not very much.

Hearing this, Eli quickly turned to Noelle and asked, “Noelle, how is Dad? Will he be okay?”

Noelle turned around and replied, “I’ve already helped him vomit out the poison, but the toxin is strong. Though most of it has been removed, he still requires gastric lavage and specific medications to neutralize it to prevent the poison from spreading. For now, the best I can do is to control the speed of his blood circulation to…”

“Then why did Dad pass out?” Leia stepped in again, feigning concern. She asked, “Noelle, Dad drank your medicine before this happened. I’m not accusing you, but… could there have been a problem with the medicine?”

Noelle cast Leia a cold glance.

She had no evidence yet, but she was certain the poisoning had everything to do with Leia.

However, since her father was still in critical condition, she had no intention of confronting Leia just yet. Instead, she replied calmly, “If there’s an issue with the medicine, wouldn’t testing the residue confirm it?”

“Hmm, that sounds like a good idea,” Leia said awkwardly.

The poison she added was in powder form. She doubted there would be any trace of it in the residue.

Soon, the ambulance arrived.

Vincent was loaded onto the stretcher and rushed to the hospital. The entire Anderson family followed.

After several hours of surgery, Vincent was finally brought out. However, the doctor informed them that his condition was still critical, and they should prepare for the worst as he could face life-threatening situations at any moment.

Hearing this, Kimberly fainted and was placed in the room next to Vincent’s.

Earlier that evening, everyone had been sitting together, sharing a peaceful meal.

Who could have expected that in less than half a day, things would spiral into such chaos?

When Vincent was sent to the hospital, the residue from the medicine was also taken for testing.

The chemist examined the ingredients Noelle had prescribed, but they were primarily trained in modern medicine and weren’t particularly familiar with traditional medicine formulas.

In fact, they had never even heard of some of the herbs Noelle had used.

As a result, the hospital couldn’t provide a definitive answer on whether Noelle’s prescription was responsible for Vincent’s poisoning.

They simply stated that further discussion was needed.

However, this vague response naturally put Noelle in the hot seat.

Leia seized the opportunity and confronted Noelle with tears in her eyes. “Noelle, are you sure your prescription is alright? Earlier, Maria said you’ve always harbored resentment toward us and have been secretly plotting to harm Dad. Is that true? Why aren’t you saying anything! Answer me! Why won’t you speak!”

Noelle watched Leia put on her dramatic performance and thought, “You aren’t even giving me a chance to respond. What’s the point of your act?”

Noelle looked at her brothers, wondering if they would hand her over to the police without giving her a chance to explain.

But to her surprise, none of them spoke out against her.

Eleven immediately stepped forward and declared, “I don’t believe Noelle would poison Dad! Someone must be framing her!”
