Chapter 0223
โSix months ago, they launched a new feature.โ
As Miranda mentioned this, the technicianโs eyes lit up. โAre you talking about the AI Recorder?โ
Everyone else looked puzzled. This wasnโt their field of expertise, so they didnโt fully understand.
Paul said, โYou must be referring to Sun Terminalโs software update that added artificial intelligence, but that feature is still far from perfect. Massive amounts of data were uploaded to the cloud without being categorized. Searching by save time isnโt possible; currently, the only way to search is through keywords.โ
In other words, one not only needed to know which data was missing, but one also had to recall the specific content of the missing dataโif not all, then at least about 10% of it. Only then could one conduct a precise search; otherwise, itโs like finding a needle in a haystack.
Bryan remarked, โ10%โฆ thatโs a lot! Thatโs equivalent to three full sets of experimental data.โ
โThatโฆโ Silas hesitated. โCould be difficult to achieve.โ Once they finished their experiments, they saved the data directly on the computer; who would keep all that in their head? Even if they wanted to remember, it was just too much.
Elizabeth couldnโt help but scoff. โThatโs all talk with no substanceโno one could remember all that. Yet some people here just want to show offโฆโ
Ignoring her sarcasm, Miranda calmly said, โMaybe I can try.โ
โYou?โ Bryanโs tone was exaggerated. โDo you really think you can remember that much data? Not to mention, it was our groupโs data. Miranda hasnโt been involved in our research and probably hasnโt even seen those data sets. Now she claims she remembers them? No one would believe that!โ
Even Paul looked surprised.
โDo you realize what 10% entails? Plus, youโre not even part of our group; youโve had no access to those data sets. And you say you remember them? Hah, thatโs quite the tall tale!โ
Elizabeth cast a disdainful glance at her. Did Miranda even know what she was talking about? Even if she wanted to claim credit and show off, she needed to make sense. It just seemed like she was willing to say anything!
โMiranda, youโve only been here a short while and might not fully understand how our research group operates. These data sets are extremely complex; itโs not just a matter of remembering themโeven just reading through them, itโs easy for your eyes to lose track,โ Sandy said, clearly worried. The previous data correction incident had greatly changed her view of Miranda, but this situation was different from the last one. Mirandaโs bold claims left Sandy feelingโฆ conflicted.
The skepticism from everyone was clear. Though Paul was listening, his gaze toward Miranda remained warm and understanding.
Chapter 0223
โAre you sure you want to give it a try?โ he asked.
โYes.โ Miranda nodded confidently.
โCan I ask you one question first?โ Paul inquired.
โSure, go ahead,โ Miranda replied.
Paul asked, โHow did you come into contact with those experimental data?โ
Miranda glanced at Elizabeth.
That glance instantly infuriated Elizabeth, who snapped, โDr. Jefferson is asking you a question! Why are you looking at me? Do I have the answer written on my face? Seriously, whatโs wrong with you?โ
Others were equally puzzled by Mirandaโs look.
After hesitating for a couple of seconds, Miranda decided to be honest. โThe day before yesterday, at noon, I noticed an experimental report on the floor near the left corner of the third lab bench. It had a partial footprint on it, so I thought it was trash and was about to toss it in the garbageโฆโ
The third lab benchโฆ That was Elizabethโs station. Usually, the groupโs experimental reports were gathered there for her to compile and input. Misplacing a report like that was a significant oversight!
