Elizabeth’s expression shifted slightly, and she snapped, “Miranda Sutton, what nonsense are you spouting? I’ve entered every single report from our group into the system, and none of them are missing!”
“If anyone doubts it, you can check the entry logs. Even though most data was lost due to computer issues, those records are still intact!” Elizabeth’s voice was firm. “Don’t you dare try to blame me for this!”
Miranda calmly replied, “Oh, I didn’t mean to imply anything. Before throwing it in the trash, I glanced at it and noticed the date was the same day, so I put it back.”
Elizabeth retorted, “And what gives you the right to accuse me of misplacing a report? You found it on the floor, picked it up, and put it back—you’ve twisted the narrative completely!”
Miranda responded, “First, I’m simply stating that I found a report on the floor, picked it up, and put it back. I never said anyone misplaced it, and no one else made that conclusion either. There’s no need for you to react so strongly.”
“You didn’t say it directly, but every word you’ve uttered suggests exactly that!”
“Secondly,” Miranda raised her voice slightly, “if you think I’m making things up, we can retrieve that report and check if there’s a footprint on the cover.”
Elizabeth sneered, lifting her chin slightly. “Do you not know that all paper reports are shredded and destroyed after being entered?”
Miranda calmly countered, “That’s fine, too. The lab is under surveillance. We can review the footage from 11:00 am to noon on that day to see if I’m lying.”
At this, Elizabeth began to panic. She did recall seeing a report with a footprint on the cover at her desk that day. She had just finished entering data and had felt relieved to catch the missed report in time, so she quickly recorded it.
As he observed Elizabeth’s expression, Bryan realized that Miranda hadn’t been lying. He quickly stepped in to mediate, “There’s no need to escalate this; we’re all working together, and not every issue has to be about winning or losing, or who’s right and who’s wrong.”
“Besides, aren’t we supposed to be discussing how to recover the last portion of the lost data? Let’s focus on the most pressing issue right now, shall we?"
“Ahem! Miranda, you mentioned that the AI function needs a keyword search, right? And the volume of keywords required is quite substantial—about a tenth of the data… This…” Bryan trailed off.
Who on earth could remember that much? It wasn’t like they had superhuman brains…
Paul looked at Miranda, “You said you glanced at that report when you picked it up?”
“Yes,” Miranda nodded.
“How much do you remember?”
“All of it.”
Everyone gasped in disbelief. Paul remained composed. “Can the data from that report be used as keywords for the AI cloud search?”

“Good,” Paul said as he opened his computer. “Tell me, and I’ll note it down.”
Miranda began, “Thickness, unit µm, specification value 25.0–26.0, test method…”
“MD tear resistance, unit g, specification value 165.1314362, test method…”
Silas and Sandy exchanged a glance. Both were stunned.
Was she really reciting it all?
Bryan went from being utterly confused to completely shocked, ending with deep admiration and awe.
What kind of memory was this? It was almost supernatural!
Miranda continued for nearly 20 minutes, during which Paul recorded 1,192 data points. He then uploaded everything to the AI cloud and hit enter to start the precise search.
