Chapter 0247
Miranda continued, โNot to mention Bob Frostโs poem. Tea is a religion of the art of life,โ and a verse by Emโฆ There is something in the nature of tea that leads us into a world of quiet contemplation. Old friends have passed on, but we are still here. We gather here not just to enjoy the taste of tea, but to find reflections of life and the truth of existence within this activity. I leave you with this phrase, โLife is like a cup of tea. Itโs all in how you make it.โ May all of us learn to live life to the fullest! Thank you.โ
With that, Miranda stood up and bowed politely to the audience. The room fell silent for a moment, then erupted in thunderous applause.
โBravo!โ
โHer words are so moving and powerful!โ
Peggy Yates, the lady of Davis Furnitures, had made her fortune from growing, roasting, and selling tea leaves. She had attended the party that day specifically because she heard that an experienced tea master would be giving a lecture. She wanted to gauge the depth of his knowledge.
Peggy felt disgruntled when a young tea master had been substituted in at the last minute. Young people lacked experience and could merely show off their superficial skills without truly understanding the art of tea.
However, Peggy was thoroughly impressed after watching the elegance and confidence she exuded while brewing tea. Her explanations were spoken with such eloquence and filled with references to classical literature.
Many tea masters preferred to drone on about theory and could spout big ideas, but their weaknesses were quickly exposed when it came to actually brewing a pot of tea. Peggy couldnโt stand those people, as someone who made her fortune from tea and grew up surrounded by its aroma.
But Miranda was different! She wasnโt just an eloquent talker; her skills were exceptional. The entire tea-brewing process flowed smoothly, and each step was executed perfectly by her. It was truly impressive!
Miranda stepped down from the stage and approached Ingrid slowly. โNow I have proved that I earned my certificate through real skill, right?โ
โYouโฆโ Ingrid was forced to retreat step by step.
โSo, shouldnโt you fulfill your promise?โ Miranda asked.
Ingrid was reminded of what she said earlier. If Miranda actually had the certificate, she could make her apologize however she wanted. Ingrid would have to do as she said.
Her back was drenched in cold sweat. She never imagined that Miranda actually knew so much about tea. Miranda didnโt merely have superficial knowledge, but she passed an exam for the certificate and had the practical skills to demonstrate!
Ingrid was so stunned. Miranda seemed unremarkable in every way while she was still with Hansel. There was nothing about Miranda that even impressed her. How did she become so capable after breaking up with him?
As Miranda stood on stage and recited classic literature, the impact it had on Evelyn was no less than it had on Ingrid. For a moment, Evelyn even felt a twinge of inferiority as she watched Miranda speak so eloquently. At that second, she finally understood the phrase, โWisdom in hold, elegance in moldโ!
Ingrid was on the verge of tears. She turned to Evelyn for help, pleading with her eyes, but Evelyn sat there in a daze, as if her soul had left her body. She ignored Ingridโs pleas completely.
Finally, Ingrid had no choice but to relent. โI admit that youโre good. Iโll apologize, okay? Do you have to push me so far?โ
Before Miranda could respond, Peggy couldnโt hold her tongue back any longer. She frowned and said, โSuch a lack of manners! Ms. Sutton has addressed your doubts, but you want to back out now that itโs your turn to apologize? In this world, you canโt have your cake and eat it too!โ
โExactly! Ms. Sutton is such an outstanding lady, unlike some who donโt even consider their own worth before causing trouble for others.โ
The other ladies began chiming in and criticizing Ingrid. Soon, Evelyn was also drawn into the fray.
