Chapter 0260
Evelyn knew Hansel didnโt want to keep Ingridโs baby.
Moreover, Richard wasnโt aware of the matter, and she was reluctant to tell him. She had a nagging feeling that he wouldnโt support her decision to keep the baby. After all, Richard and Hansel were both cold-hearted, each more ruthless than the other.
Given how things had turned out, she figured asking Ingrid to terminate the pregnancy was out of the question. So, Evelyn had no choice but to accept it.
โOh, Mrs. Kensington, I heard your daughter-in-law is expecting twins.โ
โYes, I just found out about it. They waited until after the first trimester to tell me and claimed they wanted it to be a surprise. And it was!โ Wright laughed.
โCongratulations! My son Frederick doesnโt even have a girlfriend yet, so I have no idea when Iโll become a grandmother. Mrs. Johnson, isnโt your son the same age as my son? Does he have a girlfriend?โ
Evelyn smiled and said, โNot yet. Heโs always busy with his small company. Wouldnโt it be better for him to come home and take over the family business?โ
โMrs. Johnson, youโre being modest. Your sonโs company isnโt small at all. Itโs a listed company.โ
Evelyn raised her eyebrow smugly and said, โItโs hardly worth mentioning. After all, itโs just a small-time venture.โ
Ava sighed and said, โMy son Benjamin isnโt interested in starting a business. Now that his wife is expecting, heโs content with family life and less motivated to pursue anything else.
โI canโt rely on him, so Iโm pinning my hopes on those two little grandbabies to make me proud in the future.โ
โHow can you depend on that? Theyโre still fetuses.โ
With that, everyone laughed.
Ava replied, โYou might not know this, but research abroad shows that even embryos start picking up new knowledge. Thereโs a saying that you must give kids a head start from the beginning.
โIโve signed my daughter-in-law up for the best prenatal class around. Itโs beneficial for both her and the baby. I attended a few sessions, and theyโre definitely different. They focus on improving the mother and steadily influencing the fetus.โ
โReally? The mother needs to improve, too?โ
Ava retorted, โOf course! How can a less capable mother have a competent child?โ
That remark seemed casual, but Evelynโs eyes betrayed a sudden spark of interest. Once she got home from the gathering, she pondered deeply on the couch.
She waved at Gary and said, โUse the contact information on this business card to inquire about the course. If everything is fine, sign Ingrid up. Iโll cover the cost. Donโt let Richard know, got it?โ
Gary knew about Ingridโs pregnancy. When he saw the Starborn Prenatal Wellness Studio card, he understood what was happening.
Half an hour later, he reported, โThe course is confirmed. I already signed Ms. York up.โ
โGood.โ Evelyn picked up her phone and called Ingrid.
After a short wait, the call was answered. โHello? Whoโs this?โ
Evelyn frowned upon hearing her tone. She was even more upset that her phone number wasnโt saved in Ingridโs contacts. โItโs me,โ she said while taking a deep breath to stay calm.
Ingrid replied, โOh, Mrs. Johnson. Iโm sorry, I didnโt see the caller ID. How can I help you?โ
โIโve signed you up for a prenatal class starting tomorrow,โ Evelyn informed her. โDonโt worry about it. Just think of it as a regular gathering. Itโs just a chance to chat and do fun activities like flower arranging and tea tasting."
