Chapter 0260

Evelyn knew Hansel didnโ€™t want to keep Ingridโ€™s baby.

Moreover, Richard wasnโ€™t aware of the matter, and she was reluctant to tell him. She had a nagging feeling that he wouldnโ€™t support her decision to keep the baby. After all, Richard and Hansel were both cold-hearted, each more ruthless than the other.

Given how things had turned out, she figured asking Ingrid to terminate the pregnancy was out of the question. So, Evelyn had no choice but to accept it.

โ€œOh, Mrs. Kensington, I heard your daughter-in-law is expecting twins.โ€

โ€œYes, I just found out about it. They waited until after the first trimester to tell me and claimed they wanted it to be a surprise. And it was!โ€ Wright laughed.

โ€œCongratulations! My son Frederick doesnโ€™t even have a girlfriend yet, so I have no idea when Iโ€™ll become a grandmother. Mrs. Johnson, isnโ€™t your son the same age as my son? Does he have a girlfriend?โ€

Evelyn smiled and said, โ€œNot yet. Heโ€™s always busy with his small company. Wouldnโ€™t it be better for him to come home and take over the family business?โ€

โ€œMrs. Johnson, youโ€™re being modest. Your sonโ€™s company isnโ€™t small at all. Itโ€™s a listed company.โ€

Evelyn raised her eyebrow smugly and said, โ€œItโ€™s hardly worth mentioning. After all, itโ€™s just a small-time venture.โ€

Ava sighed and said, โ€œMy son Benjamin isnโ€™t interested in starting a business. Now that his wife is expecting, heโ€™s content with family life and less motivated to pursue anything else.

โ€œI canโ€™t rely on him, so Iโ€™m pinning my hopes on those two little grandbabies to make me proud in the future.โ€

โ€œHow can you depend on that? Theyโ€™re still fetuses.โ€

With that, everyone laughed.

Ava replied, โ€œYou might not know this, but research abroad shows that even embryos start picking up new knowledge. Thereโ€™s a saying that you must give kids a head start from the beginning.

โ€œIโ€™ve signed my daughter-in-law up for the best prenatal class around. Itโ€™s beneficial for both her and the baby. I attended a few sessions, and theyโ€™re definitely different. They focus on improving the mother and steadily influencing the fetus.โ€

โ€œReally? The mother needs to improve, too?โ€

Ava retorted, โ€œOf course! How can a less capable mother have a competent child?โ€

That remark seemed casual, but Evelynโ€™s eyes betrayed a sudden spark of interest. Once she got home from the gathering, she pondered deeply on the couch.

She waved at Gary and said, โ€œUse the contact information on this business card to inquire about the course. If everything is fine, sign Ingrid up. Iโ€™ll cover the cost. Donโ€™t let Richard know, got it?โ€

Gary knew about Ingridโ€™s pregnancy. When he saw the Starborn Prenatal Wellness Studio card, he understood what was happening.

Half an hour later, he reported, โ€œThe course is confirmed. I already signed Ms. York up.โ€

โ€œGood.โ€ Evelyn picked up her phone and called Ingrid.

After a short wait, the call was answered. โ€œHello? Whoโ€™s this?โ€

Evelyn frowned upon hearing her tone. She was even more upset that her phone number wasnโ€™t saved in Ingridโ€™s contacts. โ€œItโ€™s me,โ€ she said while taking a deep breath to stay calm.

Ingrid replied, โ€œOh, Mrs. Johnson. Iโ€™m sorry, I didnโ€™t see the caller ID. How can I help you?โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve signed you up for a prenatal class starting tomorrow,โ€ Evelyn informed her. โ€œDonโ€™t worry about it. Just think of it as a regular gathering. Itโ€™s just a chance to chat and do fun activities like flower arranging and tea tasting."
