Even Franklin was stunned by his mother’s audacious demand. They’d originally agreed on asking for 500 thousand, so where did the extra two zeros come from?

Lucy, however, pressed on, “What’s so funny? My daughter’s youth, her body, her health – these things can’t be measured in money!”

Hansel smirked. “Is it that they can’t be measured by money, or that they’re simply worthless? Think about it before you answer.”

Ingrid had schemed against him multiple times. He’d already been more than lenient, considering the time they’d spent together, but now these people had the nerve to demand money? Truly, they were desperate.

“What are you trying to say?” Lucy’s expression darkened. “What gives you the right to say my daughter is worthless?”

“Because she’s a shameless woman,” Hansel replied coldly. “She threw herself at me, used tricks to get pregnant. In the end, she lost the baby through her own actions.”

Lucy’s eyes flickered with uncertainty. She clearly knew the inside story.

Hansel’s smirk deepened. “You don’t seem so innocent yourself, do you?”

Lucy reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, instantly flying into a rage. “Oh, you heartless bastard! You do something despicable and now want to turn it around on us? In our village, people like you would be beaten to death with sticks!

“You ruined my daughter’s reputation, and now you want to shirk your responsibility? I’m telling you – no way! If you won’t pay, then marry her! Take responsibility!”

Hansel’s face remained expressionless. This time, he didn’t even feel like laughing. It became clear that Ingrid’s shamelessness and greed were inherited traits.

Oblivious to the icy glint in Hansel’s eyes, Lucy continued, “50 million dollars to settle everything, and we’ll act as if none of this ever happened. We won’t bother you again. How about it? Isn’t that a good deal?”

Hansel replied coldly, “First of all, Ingrid isn’t worth that amount. Secondly, your threats mean nothing to me. And lastly – get lost! As far away as possible! Call security!”

The assistant immediately picked up the phone. Within minutes, the security team arrived and threw Lucy and Franklin out of the building.

“Ouch!” Lucy yelped as she landed hard on the ground.

“Mom, are you okay?” Franklin rushed to help her up, though he wasn’t in great shape himself. His hair was a mess, and his T-shirt was wrinkled from the struggle.

Lucy took his arm to stand, then turned to the revolving door and began cursing, “What a bunch of worthless trash! How dare they throw me out like that? I swear, if I ever get my hands on them…

“This is infuriating! We managed to get in there, and that Hansel acted like he was completely untouchable!”

“Mom, what if he doesn’t agree? Are we not getting any money now? And it’s all your fault! You said 500 thousand would be enough, so why did you suddenly ask for 50 million? Do you really think rich people are that stupid?”
