Chapter 0475

โ€œDo you seriously think that cutting ties with me will make Miranda forget our friendship and agree to be with you?โ€ Hansel asked. โ€œYouโ€™re so naive.โ€

He snatched Samโ€™s cup and smashed it on the floor. The porcelain shattered, and sharp shards flew everywhere. โ€œI never knew you were such a love-struck idiot, Sam!โ€

Calvin and Zach instinctively took a step back to avoid the flying shards. They exchanged uneasy glances and were taken aback by Hanselโ€™s sudden outburst. But what really threw them was that Sam seemed ready to risk everything just to cut ties with Hansel.

Despite their earlier falling out, Hansel and Sam kept their feud private. Still, they continued to invest in key projects and shared the profits. When it came to money, personal relationships were secondary.

If it were Calvin and Zach, they would never let their pursuit of a woman get in the way of making money. But Sam, always the strategist, had them baffled this time.

Even Hanselโ€™s jab about him being love-struck only deepened their confusion. They just couldnโ€™t figure out what was going through Samโ€™s head.

Sam glanced at the broken pieces on the floor. โ€œSuch a waste. A perfectly fine cup was smashed because youโ€™re pissed. Did Miranda end up like that cup?โ€

Hanselโ€™s face darkened. โ€œWhatโ€™s your point?โ€

Sam shot back, โ€œCall me petty or childish if you want. Who cares? I just want to cut ties with you, and I donโ€™t owe you an explanation. Iโ€™m doing this because I want to, and because it makes me happy. Is that an issue for you?โ€

The tension in Hanselโ€™s body was evident from how his chest heaved and jaw tightened.

Sam smirked. โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Youโ€™re reluctant to lose those projects or that money?โ€

Hansel hesitated before barking, โ€œYou think youโ€™re better than everyone else? That you donโ€™t fucking love money?โ€

โ€œI do. But Mimi is more important to me.โ€

Calvin and Zach winced. They felt a chill creep over them.

Sam continued, โ€œYouโ€™re right. Miranda might still turn me down even if I cut ties with you. But so what? This is my choice. Whether she says yes or no, thatโ€™s on her. Iโ€™d love things to work out, but if they donโ€™t, does that mean I should just sit back and do nothing?

โ€œThatโ€™s the difference between us, Hansel. You wonโ€™t take a chance unless youโ€™re certain of the outcome, but I will risk everything.โ€

Hansel retorted, โ€œEven if you know youโ€™re going to fail?โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s no such thing as guaranteed failure. It happens to those who donโ€™t put in the effort.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re insane!โ€

โ€œHehโ€ฆโ€ Samโ€™s lips curled into a knowing smile, as if he was holding back a sigh. โ€œMaybe.โ€

He didnโ€™t mind.

Hansel asked, โ€œDoes it have to be this way? Pursuing Miranda doesnโ€™t mean we must end our partnership.โ€

โ€œWho says it doesnโ€™t? In my book, it does,โ€ Sam said firmly.

Hansel said coldly, โ€œIf youโ€™re intent on self-sabotage, donโ€™t drag me down with you.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s exactly why Iโ€™m warning you, so you can be prepared.โ€

Hansel said, โ€œYouโ€™re basically throwing money into the sea.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll take pleasure in hearing it splash,โ€ Sam said.

Hansel fell silent and was baffled by Samโ€™s state of mind. He was convinced that Sam had lost it. With that, he turned on his heel and walked away.

Just then, Sam spoke again. โ€œI met Mirandaโ€™s parents while I was in Lumberville.โ€

Hansel froze at the revelation.
