Chapter 141: A Deaf Girl

Meanwhile, on the dimly lit top floor of the Elite Club, people were dressed in their finest attire. Many scions were present. Nathaniel sat quietly in a corner, checking his phone. He received a message from the bodyguard assigned to Cecille: "We lost her."

He'd barely left before Cecille had slipped away; now she was missing. Furrowing his brows, Nathaniel replied, "If you can't find her within an hour, all of you can leave Tudela." Immediately, the bodyguards began reviewing surveillance footage from the streets of Tudela.

Nathaniel tried calling Cecille again, only to hear the impersonal voice of an automated system: "The number you have dialed is currently unavailableโ€ฆ"

At that moment, Cecille was still on the phone with Martha, reassuring her about Elliot and Jonathan. She promised to care for them. In the video call, Martha, her hair a crown of white, looked deeply worried. "Ceci, if anything happens, call me or Calvin. Don't shoulder it all yourself." Her greatest fear was Cecille's depression, and that she might do something reckless.

"Okay. Don't worry," Cecille replied. She had more to say, but Sven rushed over, causing her to hang up. "What's the matter?"

"Nathaniel's men are looking for you," Sven answered.

Cecille immediately called her driver, arranging a pickup at a specific intersection. She then pretended to go shopping for clothes before getting into the car. Soon, Nathaniel's bodyguard spotted her, taking a photo to send to Nathaniel.

Seeing the photo, Nathaniel called Cecille. When Cecille felt the vibration, she answered, "Hello."

"Where are you?" Nathaniel asked directly.

Glancing around, Cecille said, "I'm at the shopping plaza, about to head back. Is there something wrong?"

"Shopping plaza? Come to the top floor of the Elite Club." Nathaniel hung up before she could respond.

The shopping plaza was only a few hundred meters from the Elite Club. Cecille instructed her driver to take a detour.

Meanwhile, inside the Elite Club, Nathaniel's friends, each with a beautiful woman, were enjoying themselves.

"Nathaniel, some stunning women are here tonight. Honor students, even," one man said, subtly glancing at the manager. The manager understood and quickly sent a strikingly beautiful, seemingly demure woman into the room; a newcomer, still possessing an air of innocence.

Someone whispered, "She's a virgin."

Under the dim light, the woman's gaze fell on Nathaniel, captivated by his appearance. She approached shyly. "Mr. Rainsworth, I'd like to propose a toast."

Nathaniel simply stared, not taking a sip. He found Cecille more attractive, lacking the woman's pettiness. His indifference baffled the others.

One joked, "Nathaniel, are you over women now that the deaf girl's back?" Zachary wasn't there, but his nickname for Cecille was in common use among Nathaniel's friends.

Hearing this, the honor student became curious. "The deaf girl?"

Nathaniel grimaced, unnoticed by his friend, who explained, "She's Mr. Rainsworth's ex-wife."

The honor student was taken aback. How could such an exceptional man have a deaf ex-wife? She felt sympathy for Nathaniel, yet simultaneously gained confidence. I should be far superior to a deaf girl, shouldn't I?

"Mr. Rainsworth, I'm Nancy. If you won't drink this wine, I will, for you." Nancy drained the glass. I'll make this man mine tonight.
