Chapter 321 The Shocking Scene

After hearing Martha's words, Nathaniel left the kitchen. A sudden crash followed; his arm had struck a cabinet, sending bottles and jars shattering across the floor. One bottle broke on his hand, instantly turning it blue-black. He didn't care. He'd memorized the kitchen's layout, but things could easily be moved. Bumping into furniture, he finally reached the outdoors.

He immediately called Mason, asking for a ride. While waiting, the stark difference between sighted and blind individuals became painfully clear. If he could see, he'd have driven to Cecilia himself. Instead, he waited. Mason lived only five or six minutes away.

From a distance, Mason saw Nathaniel standing in the snow. He initially assumed Cecilia had sent him out without an umbrella and rushed over.

“Mr. Rainsworth, what’s wrong?”

Nathaniel, having instructed Mason to come immediately without explanation, now directed him: “Drive to the western part of town and find a ravioli restaurant.”

“Understood.”

Sparaville's west side had only one ravioli restaurant—always bustling, with customers queuing. Cecilia, having arrived, secured a ticket and sat down. Shortly after, a man in a black coat approached.

“Ceci.”

Looking up, Cecilia saw Calvin. “Calvin, what are you doing here?”

“Didn’t you ask Martha to call me and say the ravioli here is really good?” Calvin asked.

Cecilia choked, realizing Martha hadn't wanted ravioli; she'd been setting them up. Cecilia refrained from denying having made such a request. “Right, my memory almost failed me,” she admitted, gesturing towards the queue. “Just wait a bit. It’s my treat.”

“Alright.”

Calvin readily agreed, knowing Martha's intentions. The restaurant was packed, forcing them outside. Rubbing her hands, Cecilia remarked, “I remember this place being crowded even when I was a kid. Surprisingly, after all these years, it’s still just as busy.”

Calvin removed his gloves, gently taking her hands and pulling them inside his coat. Startled, Cecilia tried to pull away, but Calvin held firm. “I remember when we were kids, you used to press your cold hands against my face.” He lifted her hand and placed it against his cheek.

Mason, driving Nathaniel, easily located the restaurant. From a distance, he witnessed the couple's intimate gestures.

“Are we there?” Nathaniel asked, noticing the stopped car.

“Mmm-hmm.”

“Take me to Ceci.”

Mason fell silent. “What’s wrong?” Nathaniel asked, concerned.

Mason, unwilling to deceive him, said, “Cecilia is currently with Calvin.”

Previously addressed as "Mrs. Rainsworth," now she was simply "Ceci." Mason had previously mentioned Calvin to Nathaniel. Understanding dawned on Nathaniel, his expression remaining calm.

“What are they doing?”

“Fooling around,” Mason replied, his eyes icy. “Just like a young couple.”
