Chapter 408: I Will Get Jealous
โAsk Mason to look into it,โ Nathaniel responded immediately.
Cecilia shook her head. โNo, youโre not his boss anymore. Don't keep bothering him. Iโve already asked Sven. Calvin said Sven was a special agent; heโs good at this sort of thing.โ
Nathaniel almost forgot about his handsome, competent bodyguard. โIf Sven canโt find anything, Iโll ask Calvin,โ Cecilia said.
She hadn't noticed Nathaniel's growing jealousy. The mention of Calvin made her feel odd. โWhy havenโt I heard from him lately?โ she wondered.
Nathaniel tightened his hold. โWhy donโt you ask me for help?โ
Cecilia looked up at his stony face. โArenโt you blind and memoryless?โ
Nathaniel regretted his impulsive offer. He leaned toward her. โBut if you do, Iโll get jealous.โ
His breath brushed her face, causing her to shyly avert her gaze. โWhat nonsense? Theyโre my friends.โ
Nathaniel smiled. In a magnetic voice, he asked, โAnd what about me? What is our relationship?โ
Before she could answer, his hand covered her lips. โWeโre married. I hope youโll share everything with me and let me help you.โ
Their closeness allowed Cecilia to see Nathaniel's face clearly. She had to admit, regardless of his blindness, he remained handsome.
She drew a deep breath, her voice trembling. โIโve said it many times; weโre together temporarily. Once you regain your memory, weโll get a divorce.โ
She pulled away and retreated to her room. Vivian, needing Jonathanโs help to disrupt Rolandโs arranged date for her, had borrowed him earlier that day.
Chapter 408: I Will Get Jealous
After Cecilia left, Nathaniel had Mason investigate Paula.
That night, Cecilia lay awake, troubled by Magnus's words. She finally got up and went downstairs. The living room lights were on. Nathaniel was at the computer.
Hearing her, he looked up. โWhy are you up?โ
She genuinely believed his eyesight was improving at times. โI canโt sleep.โ
โCome here,โ he said.
Cecilia walked over. โWhatโs the matter?โ
He shut down his computer and pulled her into his embrace. โI canโt sleep either. How about we do something to cheer us up?โ Heโd been holding back for several months; the pregnancy was now almost three months stable.
Cecilia's face flushed. โNo.โ
She tried to leave his embrace, but he stood, scooped her up, and carried her to his bedroom.
โWhat are you doing?โ
โLetโs not wake the old people. We can talk in the room.โ
Nathaniel's heart raced. After gently laying her on the bed, he joined her, pulling her close. She realized how small the bed was; they had to huddle to avoid falling off.
โThereโs nothing much to say. Iโm going backโฆ ummโโ
Nathanielโs kiss silenced her. She tried to pull away, but he held her firmly, kissing her fiercely and possessively.
