Chapter 457: What a Coincidence

Cecilia was surprised. Despite appearances, Elliot disliked Nathaniel and wanted nothing to do with him. Reassuring her son, she said, "All right, I'll do what you want. Now, go to sleep, okay?"

Finally, Elliot drifted off to a peaceful sleep, though some concerns lingered.

The next morning, amidst the usual chaos, Elliot called Jonathan on his smartwatch. The delayed answer displeased him. "What took you so long to answer?" he asked, annoyed.

Jonathan, on the balcony of an opulent mansion overlooking Tudela's picturesque landscape, sighed. He was at Sinclair Manor. Cassandra and Nicholas's engagement party had just ended successfully; preparations for Vivian and Zachary's engagement were already underway.

Roland, beaming with pride, clapped his hands. He had escorted Vivian to Sinclair Manor. As they prepared to leave, he pulled Jonathan aside, his eyes wet, his voice shaky. "Once you're at your great-grandpa's, don't forget your grandpa, all right? After your parents' engagement party, visit us often," he said, sniffling.

George, also fond of the boy, placed a hand on Jonathan's shoulder and smiled warmly. "My great-grandson is the cleverest and most sensible. He wouldn't forget his grandfather. Come, let's go back to the family home."

If the Kennedys held the Sinclairs' power, Roland would have kept Jonathan constantly by his side. He was indifferent about Vivian's presence, but Jonathan had become a treasured jewel to the two elders.

Even more ridiculous, Zachary himself doubted the old paternity test, now convinced Jonathan was his biological son. Jonathan could only accept this bizarre twist of fate and go along with it, even alongside Vivian.

After briefly updating Elliot on recent events, Jonathan explained, "Someone from the Sinclair family visits me daily. It's been hard to take calls without interruption, which is why I've been slow to respond."

Elliot's frustration eased. He shared the previous day's events, particularly their grandmother's visit and insults to their mother.

"Why didn't you tell me about this sooner?" Jonathan asked, his tone serious.

Elliot felt awkward. Nathaniel's issues had consumed his time. "I was dealing with something yesterday," he admitted. "But I'm telling you now. Can you hack into that witch granny's account and give her a taste of her own medicine?"

Elliot lacked computer skills, relying on Jonathan's expertise.

"It's not convenient here," Jonathan replied. "If I get caught, it'll be a big problem." He reassured his brother, "Don't worry, I won't let her get away with it."

"Okay, good luck!" Elliot offered support. Though less skilled, he possessed talents that might eventually outwit Paula. For now, caution was necessary to avoid their mother's discovery.

After hanging up, Jonathan's expression grew serious. Their grandmother's return and troublemaking were intolerable.

He decided to find scandalous information about Paula, spending the evening searching online.

Heading downstairs, he saw Paula and her husband, Ralph, entering with gifts. The timing was perfect.

Vivian, in the living room, was equally surprised. What is Cecilia's mother doing here?

She hurried to Jonathan. "Jon, your great-grandpa's about to discuss business. Let's go outside and play," she suggested, hoping to remove him from the situation.

But George intervened. "No need," he said firmly. "You and Jon might as well stay and learn about the business."

Vivian glanced at Jonathan, unsure. He was smart, but still a child. She hadn't expected George to involve him so soon. With no choice, she sat quietly.

Jonathan, however, had made up his mind. His sharp black eyes locked onto Paula, a cold smirk playing on his lips.

What a coincidence. Even without Old Mr. Sinclair's request, he would have stayed.
