Chapter 464: He Has Gone to Sparaville

As Nicholas finished speaking, the door burst open, revealing Nathaniel.

โ€œHide what?โ€ Nathaniel asked, having rushed back upon hearing Nicholas had arrived.

Nicholas turned, a hint of coldness in his eyes. โ€œNathaniel, youโ€™re back. I was just about to ask Cecilia how you manage to work while blind.โ€

Nathanielโ€™s brow furrowed. โ€œIf you wish to discuss something, letโ€™s go outside.โ€

Nicholas rose, glancing at Cecilia before following Nathaniel. Outside, snow fell in a flurry. The two strikingly similar men stood together, their presence commanding attention.

โ€œWhat are you trying to do?โ€ Nathaniel asked.

With Cecilia absent, Nicholas dropped his pretense. โ€œHavenโ€™t I said it before? I intend to reclaim whatโ€™s mine. Since childhood, youโ€™ve always had the best. Now you want Cecilia? Is that fair?โ€

Nathaniel chuckled scornfully. โ€œDonโ€™t blame others for your mistakes. Have you considered your own actions?โ€ He alluded to Nicholas using Nathanielโ€™s name without permission.

Nicholas retorted, โ€œWell, youโ€™re blind now. You only have yourself to blame.โ€

Tension crackled between them. Then, Nicholasโ€™s phone rang. It was Cassandra.

He answered, โ€œWhatโ€™s up?โ€

โ€œNicholas, where are you? I came to the office, but you werenโ€™t there.โ€

Cassandra sat on his office couch, a stark contrast to her usual haughty self. She was bundled up, her gaze timid.

Jocelyn, his assistant, was perplexed by this sudden change.

โ€œWhat is it?โ€ Nicholas asked, instead of answering her.

Cassandra stammered, unable to find the words. Fear of rejection had driven her to come.

โ€œDonโ€™t call unless itโ€™s important,โ€ he said, hanging up and instructing the driver to leave. His goal for the day was already accomplished; he knew Nathaniel was feigning poverty.

Back at Orion Corporation, Cassandra glared at the disconnected call, her face flushed with anger.

โ€œWhere on earth did Nicholas go?โ€ she demanded of Jocelyn.

โ€œI donโ€™t know,โ€ Jocelyn replied impartially. Since her return, Nicholas had been secretive.

โ€œIโ€™m his fiancรฉe! Do you think I canโ€™t get you fired?โ€

Jocelyn remained silent. Cassandra threw her bag at Jocelyn and stormed out.

Someone blocked her path.

โ€œCassandra,โ€ Magnus said, a mischievous glint in his eyes. โ€œI know where Mr. Rainsworth has gone.โ€

โ€œWhere?โ€

โ€œSparaville, where Cecilia used to live.โ€ Magnus kept tabs on Nicholas and his associates.

โ€œThat wretch! She denied trying to seduce Nicholas!โ€ Cassandraโ€™s hands clenched. Magnus enjoyed watching them fight. He felt Cecilia deserved it for not listening to him.

Cassandra handed Magnus a card. โ€œYour reward. Keep a close eye on Nicholas and thatโ€ฆ woman.โ€

โ€œOf course, Cassandra.โ€

โ€œWork hard, and Iโ€™ll convince Dad to help you start a company,โ€ she promised. This had been Magnus's leverage for five years.
