Chapter 485: Never Been In A Relationship Before

The car stopped a centimeter from Cecilia. Her pupils constricted slightly, but she remained composed. Surveillance cameras were present, and she doubted Queenie would dare to attack her openly.

Queenie studied the beautiful, composed woman. Except for Cassandra, she might have felt a pang of pity. "Do you really want to make my daughter your enemy?" she asked.

"There's nothing between Nicholas and meโ€”never has been, never will be," Cecilia replied firmly. How could she choose Nicholas when she'd already committed to Nathaniel? Even without Nathaniel, she wouldn't choose Nicholas, especially considering his children.

"You'd better mean that," Queenie threatened, then instructed her driver to leave. On the road, Queenie glanced at Cecilia in the rearview mirror and lit a cigarette. It was hard to tell if Cecilia's composure was genuine. Queenie then made a lengthy call to Elena, the content of which remained unknown.

That night, Elena invited Cassandra to Rainsworth Manor to celebrate the New Year. Cassandra knew her foster mother was resourceful, but she hadn't expected even Elena, the Iron Lady of Tudela, to be influenced by Queenie. She called Queenie. "Mom, you're incredible. Thank you."

Queenie grinned. "I warned Cecilia. It seems she won't dare pursue Nicholas again."

Cassandra was displeased. "You just warned her? That's all? Mom, did she fool you with her innocent act? She's two-faced. She assured me she had no connection with Nicholas, but she secretly met him soon after."

Queenie lit a cigarette, her brows furrowing. "Really? Is she that cunning?"

Cassandra nodded. "She deceived me." As a mother, Queenie believed her daughter. "Don't worry," she assured Cassandra. "I'll stay in Tudela with you and support you. Let's see if she dares to bother you again."

"All right." Cassandra felt relieved. That night, she moved into Rainsworth Manor. Nicholas was surprised to find her there. "What brings you here?"

Cassandra felt shame, remembering past insults. "Madam Elena invited me," she replied softly.

Elena descended the stairs. "Nicholas, now that you're engaged to Cassandra, it's time to develop your relationship. Living together will be beneficial." Elena, overjoyed about Elliot's existence, eagerly anticipated Nicholas and Cassandra starting a family. When Queenie suggested it, she readily agreed to Cassandra moving in.

Nicholas neither agreed nor refused. "Excuse me. I have work." He went to his study. Disappointment flickered in Cassandra's eyes. Initially, she'd been drawn to Nicholas's status, but now she genuinely loved him. He was graceful, elegant, strikingly handsome, and his authority surpassed even Nathaniel's.

"Cassandra, don't worry," Elena reassured her. "Nicholas has never been in a relationship before. He could use your guidance."

Cassandra's eyes widened in feigned surprise. "Madam Elena, are you saying Nicholas hasn't been in a relationship? But I heardโ€”" She trailed off, watching curiosity flicker across Elena's face.
