Chapter 484: Stay Away From Nicholas

Meanwhile, on the rooftop of the Four Seasons Hotel in Tudela, a sophisticated woman stood gazing at the city. A lit cigarette smoldered in her fingers, the smoke drifting lazily into the air. Her expression was unreadable.

Thud, thud, thud! A knock echoed.

โ€œCome in,โ€ she said, extinguishing her cigarette.

Cassandra cautiously entered. โ€œMom.โ€

Queenie turned, her sharp gaze softening. โ€œCome here.โ€

Cassandra approached. Queenie adjusted her blouse. โ€œHow have you been?โ€

Cassandra had been abroad, managing projects. News of Paula's involvement in a murder had brought her home to check on Cassandra.

Cassandra, feigning innocence, replied, โ€œMom, Iโ€™m not doing well at all.โ€

Queenieโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€œHas someone made your life miserable? Nicholas?โ€ She clenched her fist. Did the Rainsworths think their power allowed them to bully the Jamiesons?

Cassandra shook her head. โ€œItโ€™s not him. Nicholas treats me well.โ€

โ€œWho else?โ€

โ€œCecilia Smith. Nathanielโ€™s wife, my future sister-in-law,โ€ Cassandra said.

Queenie scoffed. โ€œCecilia? That deaf woman? How dare she bully my daughter?โ€

Queenie, Cassandraโ€™s adoptive mother since childhood, had always been fiercely protective. No one had ever dared to bully her daughter.

Cassandra lamented, โ€œMom, you wouldnโ€™t believe it. Sheโ€™s so manipulative. She was secretly trying to seduce Nicholas. I wouldnโ€™t have believed it if I hadnโ€™t seen it myself.โ€

Fury surged through Queenie. โ€œThe women I loathe most are those who steal other womenโ€™s men!โ€ She patted Cassandraโ€™s shoulder. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll stand up for you.โ€

Cassandra nodded. She knew Queenie was resourceful and unlike Paula.

โ€œCheer up,โ€ Queenie said, offering reassurance. โ€œMy daughter is no weakling.โ€ She then called someone to investigate Cecilia.

โ€œAll right, Mom.โ€

That afternoon, a Lamborghini arrived at Daltonia Villa. Cecilia, composing music, answered a call. Two icy words pierced the silence: โ€œCome out.โ€

Confused, she stepped outside to find an unfamiliar car. The window rolled down, revealing Queenieโ€™s stern face. Cecilia, remembering her from the engagement party, greeted her.

Queenie, somewhat surprised Cecilia remembered her, pulled out a check. โ€œFill in the amount yourself, and donโ€™t interact with Nicholas again. If I do, donโ€™t blame me if things get ugly.โ€ Unlike Paula and Elena, Queenie was a woman of action.

Cecilia refused the check. โ€œI thought Madame Queenie valued right and wrong. Nicholas is my husbandโ€™s brother. How could I avoid him?โ€

A mocking gleam flashed in Queenieโ€™s eyes. No one had ever dared to defy her like this.

Queenie remained silent. The driver seemingly took this as a cue to reverse the car andโ€ฆ
