Chapter 494: Annoying Son
Nathaniel was about to speak when Cecilia interrupted. โIf they donโt mind, let them do it. A new year brings a new atmosphere. Please thank Mrs. Elena for me, Mr. Liam.โ
Liam choked, frowning. โAll right.โ
Elliot silently ate his ravioli, his gaze icy. His witch of a grandmother had just been imprisoned, and now his other grandmother was troubling Cecilia again. He couldn't stand by and watch his mother be bullied.
After a moment, Elliot put down his fork. โMommy, Iโm full. May I go for a stroll?โ
Cecilia also put down her fork. โAll right, Iโll come with you.โ
โMom, you still need to prepare dinner. Iโll only be gone a short while,โ Elliot said with a charming smile.
โHow about I have Mr. Sven accompany you?โ Cecilia suggested, hesitant to let him go alone since his secret trip to Rainsworth Manor.
Elliot sighed. โMommy, itโs New Yearโs Day. Canโt Mr. Sven have a day off?โ Cecilia had offered Sven time off, but heโd refused, saying all his loved ones were deceased.
โIโll accompany you,โ Nathaniel offered.
Elliot started to refuse, but Nathaniel, without giving him a chance, led him outside.
โNo! No, no, no!โ Cecilia cried, watching them leave.
Outside, Elliot protested. โWhy are you so nosy? Let go of me! I have things to do!โ
Nathaniel firmly smacked his rear.
Elliot was instantly furious. โYou hit me! Just as I thought, a new father, a new mother! Oh, my dear biological father! Boo-hooโฆโ
Nathaniel quickly covered his mouth before he could finish. โAnnoying.โ He muttered, relieved the boy wasn't his son.
Elliot, silenced, could only protest with his eyes. Unfortunately, Nathaniel was blind.
โSpill. What are you planning?โ Nathaniel demanded, tossing him onto the doorstep.
Elliot, hands on his hips, stopped crying. โAre you going to let your mother bully my mother? Youโre fond of her, and sheโs the lady of this house. My mom didnโt even say a word! How could you let them rearrange our house?โ
Nathaniel was surprised by his clear reasoning. He reflected that Elliot's earlier accident might not have been accidental.
โSo, whatโs your proposal?โ he asked.
โTo teach your mother a lesson! Should we let her bully my mom?โ Elliot replied.
โIf your wife and mother disagreed, whose side would you take?โ Nathaniel asked.
Elliot blushed. โUmโฆ Iโm still too young to think about wives.โ
Nathaniel chuckled inwardly. Before Elliot could respond, he said, โIโll handle this. Stay home and donโt cause trouble.โ
Hearing his conviction, Elliot agreed. โShe wonโt bully Mommy anymore.โ
โAll right.โ
