Chapter 495: Make Her Leave Nathaniel
After sending Elliot away, Nathaniel called Elena and instructed her not to interfere in matters that did not concern her. Elena, rarely scolded by her son, felt unhappy and exaggerated the situation between Cecilia and Nicholas.
โNathaniel, despite your loss of sight and memory, you remain the Rainsworth family's eldest grandson. Surely there are many women you could choose from? Cecilia, fickle and still pining for her ex, is unworthy of our family.โ She paused, hesitating before mentioning the children, as she hadn't yet pieced everything together.
โDid someone tell you something?โ Nathaniel asked, his eyes narrowing.
Unease struck Elena. She replied unconvincingly, โDo I need someone to tell me? I saw Cecilia and Nicholas together.โ She knew those who lie often deceive themselves first.
Nathaniel gripped his phone, his knuckles white. โWe will never discuss this again.โ He hung up.
Watching the disconnected call, Elena frowned. Despite her words, Nathaniel remained devoted to Cecilia. Had the car accident somehow affected him? The doctor had warned that treating his memory issues would be complex; regaining his memories might change him irrevocably.
After ending the call, Nathaniel was returning to the villa when a voice stopped him.
โNathaniel.โ
It was Stella, rescued from the mental hospital by Nicholas. She wore a light-colored woolen coat, her long hair framing a pale, thin face.
โNathanielโฆโ
Stella saw Nathaniel halt. Approaching, she reached for his hand, but he pushed her away.
โGet lost.โ
Her hand froze. Nathaniel had tolerated her past impersonation of Ceciliaโa deception that supposedly saved Elenaโs lifeโbut no longer.
โNathaniel, itโs me, Stella, the one you truly loved. Donโt you remember?โ Tears glistened in her eyes.
Had he not regained some memory, he might have fallen for her act again.
โMason told me Stella Ross is deceitful and amoral. Are you her?โ Nathanielโs tone was heavy.
Stellaโs expression shifted. โThis is a misunderstanding. I never did those things; itโs all false.โ
โWho sent you?โ Nathaniel interrupted.
Even blind, he was sharper than most. He didn't press further; Ceciliaโs presence was a concern. He simply said, โTell whoever sent you to stop wasting their efforts,โ and walked away.
From a nearby car, Nicholas watched, his face darkening. As Stella approached, head bowed, he spoke, his voice gentle yet menacing. โYour words aren't reliable, Ms. Ross. Should I tell Zachary youโre alive?โ
The mention of Zachary made Stella shake her head.
โMr. Rainsworth, please, another chance. I can make Cecilia leave Nathaniel.โ
Leaning against the car window, gazing toward Daltonia Villa, Nicholas asked, โNathaniel doesnโt love you. How will you make Cecilia leave him?โ
โA small favor, and Cecilia will be gone.โ Stella knew Cecilia best; a carefully constructed fabrication, like beforeโphotos, social media postsโwould be enough to drive Cecilia to leave Nathaniel.
