Chapter 518: Something Is Brewing

The twins shared a deeper understanding than anyone else. Nathaniel's expression remained unchanged. “So what if I did?”

“It’s no big deal,” Nicholas began slowly. “I’m just reminding you, Ceci is quite innocent. But if you keep deceiving her, she might not trust you anymore.”

Nathaniel disliked Nicholas's apparent understanding of Cecilia. “You don’t need to concern yourself with this.” He paused, lowering his voice. “But don’t say I didn’t warn you that my patience has its limits. If I find something, our brotherhood won't matter.”

Nathaniel quietly opened the car door, allowing the housekeeper to escort him home. Nicholas watched his brother leave, his eyes narrowed. A cold gust of wind caused him to cough violently. His subordinate hastily offered him warm water. “Mr. Nicholas, are you alright?”

After regaining his composure, Nicholas asked, “What has Stella been up to lately?”

“She’s been hiding in her rental apartment, never going out,” the subordinate replied. Stella lived in constant fear of Zachary's retaliation.

While resting his eyes, Nicholas received a call from his assistant, Jocelyn. “Mr. Nicholas, the results of the investigation are in. Imminence Corporation has taken over our overseas projects. They seem to have a deep understanding of our internal operations. I suspect a mole.”

Nicholas rubbed his temples. “Jocelyn, have you considered that it might not be an inside job, but someone who has already resigned?”

Jocelyn realized, “Are you talking about Mr. Nathaniel? But he lost his memory… and he’s blind…”

If it were Nathaniel, it would be a remarkable feat for a blind man to challenge a corporation.

“Jocelyn, keep your speculations to yourself,” Nicholas said. “It’s St. Patrick’s Day. Go get some rest.”

Jocelyn replied, “I don’t have any relatives in Tudela, so no need to celebrate. Since I have nothing else to do, I’ll investigate further. It will be easier to handle the shareholders at the board meeting by spring.”

Nicholas said gently, “I’ll give you the week off. Go home and visit your parents.”

“That’s not necessary…”

“Consider it a job assignment.”

At home, Jocelyn, clutching her phone, was overjoyed. “Alright. Thank you, Mr. Nicholas.”

After ending the call, Jocelyn intended to book a flight, but a headline caught her eye: Breaking! Intimate photos from eight years ago of Stella Ross and Nathaniel Rainsworth, the former CEO of Rainsworth Group, surfaced!
