Chapter 560: Secret Millionaire

Cecilia briefly told Eric of her return, offering few details. After dinner, he offered to drive her home. "I can go back myself. What if your fans see you?" Cecilia refused. She preferred to remain a secret friend, unknown to the public.

"Don't worry. I'm heavily disguised," Eric replied, curious about her current residence. Despite her protests, Cecilia eventually agreed. Stepping outside, they faced a harsh winter wind. Eric shielded her from the snow and wind. He chuckled, "I'm surprised by how much it's snowing in Tudela. It was exceptionally warm at the seaside before I returned."

Eric was vibrant; Cecilia listened, occasionally responding. They entered his car. Unbeknownst to Cecilia, a low-profile black Maybach followed, driven by Sven. Nathaniel, in his own Maybach, wore a gloomy expression.

"What does the man look like?" Nathaniel asked.

"His face was hidden behind sunglasses and a mask. He seems fairly young, but I can't make out his features," Mason replied. Sensing Nathaniel's hostility, he added, "He's definitely not good-looking. Otherwise, why would he be wearing sunglasses and a mask?"

Nathaniel's mood improved slightly. "Didn't you say she didn't know any men besides Calvin while abroad?"

Mason felt unfairly blamed. He sighed quietly. "Mr. Rainsworth, honestly, it's normal for women to have male friends. My girlfriend even has a male best friend." He gritted his teeth, using this to appease Nathaniel.

"Male best friend?" Nathaniel looked puzzled. "What is that?"

Mason was speechless. He thought, Mr. Rainsworth, besides making money, knows nothing else. He still can't cookโ€ฆ "The kind of man who gets along well with women," Mason explained.

Nathaniel didn't believe in platonic friendships between genders. He thought of Calvin, who pretended his interest in Cecilia was purely platonic, only to openly challenge Nathaniel once Cecilia was gone.

"Is Calvin dead yet?" Nathaniel asked.

"No, he's been discharged. He's in a power struggle with the Reese brothers, so he probably can't come back."

"Can't come back?"

"Doesn't have the guts," Mason corrected, feeling his boss was becoming increasingly difficult. "Mr. Rainsworth, are we going back to the office?"

"Follow her male best friend."

Mason was speechless. Although capable in a fight, his driving skills were average. He'd nearly lost Sven several times while tailing. As he drove, the road became familiar.

"Mr. Rainsworth, they're heading to Daltonia Villa."

She's bringing her male best friend home? Nathaniel's terrible mood left Mason on edge.

When Eric dropped Cecilia at Daltonia Villa, he was awestruck by the mansion. "Ceci, you must be a secret millionaire! This house must cost billions!" He remembered her renting a place when they first met.

"This isn't my house," Cecilia replied casually.

"Whose is it?"

She told the truth. "It belongs to my husband."

Eric was stunned. "Didn't you divorce him?" He recalled Cecilia living alone overseas with an elderly woman, caring for two children. Her ex-husband is so wealthy, yet he didn't help her?
