Chapter 576: He Is Not Bad At All
Elliot was relentlessly fussy. He was ill and genuinely miserable. Cecilia patiently coaxed him.
โMommy, I just want Mr. Rainsworth to spend some time with us.โ
โAll right then, Iโll call Mr. Rainsworth. Make sure you behave yourself.โ
Cecilia felt at a loss. Rising from the bed, she went outside. Nathaniel was still awake, working in his study. She knocked, feeling embarrassed.
Nathaniel paused his work and looked toward the door.
โArenโt you done yet?โ
โAlmost. Is there something you need?โ he asked seriously.
Gathering her courage, Cecilia said, โCome to bed with us when youโre finished.โ
Nathanielโs work was forgotten. His expression unchanged, he simply replied, โOkay.โ
Cecilia returned to the room and told Elliot that Nathaniel would be arriving soon. She expected it to take at least half an hour, but Nathaniel arrived within minutes, already in his pajamas.
Upon seeing him, Elliot immediately said, โMr. Rainsworth, didnโt you say I sleepwalk? Hold me tonight so I wonโt wander around.โ
Nathaniel strode to the bed and lay down. Elliot patted the other side and turned to Cecilia. โMommy, can you sleep hugging me too?โ
โOkay.โ
Cecilia was utterly perplexed. So, Elliot slept between them. As they held him, their hands accidentally touched. Elliot had never felt such happiness. He quickly drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 570: He Is Not Bad At All
Cecilia was still awake. In the dim light, she saw the faint scar on Nathanielโs stern face. She raised her hand to touch it.
Nathaniel was quicker. He took her hand and quietly asked, โCanโt sleep?โ
Ceciliaโs hand flinched, but she couldnโt pull away. โYeah.โ
Nathaniel gently released her hand. He lifted Elliot, placed him beside him, and then leaned toward Cecilia.
Cecilia was bewildered. โWhat are you doing?โ
โWeโre a married couple. We should sleep side by side.โ
As he spoke, he pulled her into his embrace, ignoring Elliot.
Unable to escape, Cecilia whispered, โWhat happened to your face?โ
โI accidentally got scratched by some glass. Itโs nothing serious.โ
Cecilia assumed he couldnโt see well, so she didnโt question it further. Feeling tired, she fell asleep in his arms.
The next day, Elliot woke to find himself in the same room, but Cecilia and Nathaniel were sleeping together, leaving him in the corner.
โWas I really sleepwalking?โ
Scratching his head, he got up and freshened up. Afterward, he called Jonathan.
โJon.โ
Jonathan, still half-asleep, mumbled, โWhy are you calling so early?โ He'd had a successful midnight livestream with Vivian the previous night.
โI have something to discuss.โ
Jonathan, sensing something serious, immediately asked, โWhat is it?โ
โIโve decided to forgive Daddy.โ
Jonathan was stunned.
โAre you kidding me?โ
They had planned to always support Cecilia and, when older, teach Nathaniel a lesson.
โJon, heโs not bad at all. He even saved me yesterday,โ Elliot said, a warm feeling filling his heart as he remembered Nathanielโs help.
