Chapter 586 Grandma Is Here

In an instant, Mason fell silent. At night, the car's silence was profound. He felt another all-nighter with Nathaniel loomed, managing only to send an apologetic message to his girlfriend. Nathaniel remained in the car all night.

Early the next morning, after checking on Elliot, Nathaniel inquired about his condition. Learning he was stable, he left the hospital. In the corridor, he encountered Cecilia. Mason greeted her as "Mrs. Rainsworth," but Nathaniel continued on without stopping. Mason found this odd but didn't question it.

Cecilia reached Elliot's ward but couldn't enter, observing him from afar before returning to the caregiver's room. Vivian called, relaying that Felix had gone missing. News of Felix's disappearance, lasting only a night, had already reached the Sinclair family. Cecilia explained the events; Felix had been found at Daltonia Villa.

Vivian reacted, "So that's what happened. That little brat! Eli's not well. I can't believe he dared to barge into your home and fight. Thankfully, he's terrible with directions; otherwise, it would've been Eli in the hospital." She was right; the consequences could have been far worse.

Cecilia revealed, "Vivian, Nathaniel discovered Eli and Jon are his sons."

Vivian exclaimed, "How did he find out?"

Cecilia explained, "He secretly had a paternity test done and is extremely upset. He accused me of keeping his sons from him for years."

Cecilia lay in bed, her sleep disturbed by nightmares of her children being taken away. Vivian consoled her, "Can you really be blamed? It's his fault. He treated you so poorly. If it were me, I wouldn't even bear his child."

Cecilia agreed, and Vivian added, "Don't overthink it. If he wants to be angry, let him be." Cecilia's fear wasn't of angering Nathaniel, but of him taking the children. She hung up, her anxieties momentarily fading.

Unable to see Elliot, she checked on his condition with the doctor, learning he needed more chemotherapy. His cord blood would be used for surgery after his child's birth, followed by more frequent chemotherapy sessions.

In the ward, Elliot, unaware of Cecilia and Nathaniel's presence, assumed they were busy. He called Jonathan, who, finding it strange that Felix was absent, answered discreetly.

"What's the matter?" Jonathan asked.

"He knows we're his sons," Elliot replied, referring to Nathaniel.

Jonathan frowned, "Didn't you switch the toothbrush when he had the paternity test last year?" The situation felt increasingly overwhelming.

Elliot suggested, "Perhaps Mommy told him. She must have forgiven him."

Jonathan's youthful face hardened at the news of Cecilia's forgiveness. "I don't believe you. I have classes," he said, ending the call. Elliot was about to respond when he saw someone approaching the entrance. She had Nathaniel's permission for a brief visit. Elliot thought, "So she's my grandma, the old witch who used to look down on Mommy and bully her." He found a new source of amusement.
