Chapter 591 Barred From Seeing Her Son

The tall, imposing Nathaniel stood beneath a large tree near the entrance. His bodyguard had already informed him that Cecilia and Eric had arrived.

Cecilia glanced at Nathaniel and halted. Positioning herself in front of Eric, she said, "We're here. You can go."

Ari nodded. "Alright, see you later." His car pulled away. After watching him leave, Cecilia returned to the hospital.

Reaching Nathaniel, she asked, "May I see Eli now?"

Nathaniel's impassive profile revealed no emotion. "He's asleep," he replied coldly.

Cecilia checked her phone; it was already ten o'clock. Engrossed in her conversation with Eric, she'd lost track of time. "Alright, I'll see him tomorrow," she said.

Nathaniel swiftly grabbed her arm. "Is your concern for the child genuine, or is it pretense?"

Cecilia's fingers tightened. "What do you mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean."

Nathaniel strode past her, leaving Cecilia frozen. What on earth is he up to? she thought. Forbidding me from seeing my own son is one thing, but questioning my concern? I've endured so much to bear and raise my children; how could my concern possibly be fake?

Exhausted, Cecilia didn't argue. She returned to the hospital to rest, planning to see Elliot the following morning.

In the ward next to Elliot's was Felix. After more than a day of treatment, he'd regained his vitality. Immediately, he complained, "Mommy, Daddy, this is all that unwanted child's fault!"

Miranda took his hand. "Felix, tell me what happened." She'd only heard Cecilia and Elliot's account; she hadn't heard Felix's version.

"That unwanted child tricked me," Felix sobbed. "He lured me behind the artificial hill, and I got lost."

A chilling glint appeared in Miranda's eyes. "That bastard!" she muttered, looking at Adrian. "You heard him. He was clearly set up. How could a child deceive our son? It must be Cecilia's doing. If something happened to my son, her sonโ€ฆ she'll take over the Rainsworth family!"

Adrian agreed. "This isn't over. Once Felix is discharged tomorrow, we'll tell Grandpa."

"Alright," Miranda nodded. "I'll call my parents." Adrian's mother wasn't much help, and his father hadn't returned.

Miranda then told Felix, "We're seeing Grandpa tomorrow. Remember, you're going to play with that unwanted child, not fight him."

Felix nodded. "I understand, Mom."

The next morning, Miranda and her family left the hospital early. After waking up, Cecilia was stopped outside Elliot's room.

"Mrs. Rainsworth, Mr. Rainsworth said Mr. Elliot is having therapy and breakfast. It's inconvenient to see you."

"I'm Eli's mother. I won't disturb him. Why can't I go in?"

The bodyguard followed Nathaniel's instructions and wouldn't let her pass. Cecilia was about to force her way in when Nathaniel arrived at the door.
