Chapter 626: The Pot Calling the Kettle Black

Immediately, Anisa rushed to Oscar's side. "Honey, are you alright? Call the police! Someone's starting a fight!"

Anisa's behavior was a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. Cecilia fixed her with a cold stare. "Anisa, everyone saw your husband attack my son and me. My bodyguard was simply protecting us."

"That's nonsense! You ordered your bodyguard to hurt us!"

The word "bodyguard" elicited a wave of sighs and murmurs. Irritated, Sven produced a miniature camera mounted on his chest. "Ma'am, this camera recorded everything. The footage is secure."

Jonathan, meanwhile, had almost forgotten he was live-streaming. Unaware of the influx of online gifts, he watched his viewer count explode.

Seeing the evidence, Anisa shifted her approach. "Ms. Cecilia, we're seeking justice for our child."

"I've already said that if the video confirms your account, I will apologize," Cecilia reiterated.

Camila stepped forward. "But the teachers said the video was destroyed. Are we just supposed to ignore this? What about our child's injury?"

The other mothers echoed her sentiments. "Ms. Cecilia, as mothers, please understand how we feel!"

Cecilia acknowledged their valid concerns. Without the security footage, no one would be fully convinced. She turned to Sven. "Did you recover the footage?"

Sven, who had been retrieving it, produced his phone and played the video copied from the kindergarten's security system.

The teacher was astonished. "How did you get this video?"

Miranda had earlier instructed the security guards to destroy the footage. Sven, however, arrived just as they were about to comply, swiftly incapacitating the guards.

"Someone wanted the footage destroyed," he stated calmly.

The teacher fell silent.

Cecilia, ignoring her, instructed Sven to play the video for everyone.

As the video played, everyone, including the live-stream audience, saw a boy shielding Jonathan with four other children. Then, inexplicably, the lead boy said something that prompted the other four to attack Jonathan. Jonathan initially evaded them, but when cornered, he retaliated.

Netizens, witnessing the truth, erupted in righteous indignation. Comments included: "I can't believe kids that age would fight like that! Jon would have been wrongly blamed without this video. Thank goodness he knew self-defense—otherwise, he'd be in the hospital!" Another commented: "If this happened to my child, I'd applaud them. Kids need to protect themselves." Most netizens sided with Jonathan.

In the office, everyone except Caelum and Conrad's parents was speechless.

"I guess we don't need to apologize," Cecilia remarked.

Anisa remained defiant. "Your child hit mine. You must apologize."

"My child did nothing wrong. Why should he apologize? You should be apologizing. Sue me if you're unsatisfied," Cecilia responded calmly.

Oscar, accustomed to wielding authority, refused to let his child suffer injustice. He immediately called the principal. "Mr. Bloggs, get here. I need you to expel a child."
