Chapter 66: Zachary Is Trending

Vivian, heiress of the Kennedy family, and Cecilia were university classmates. After graduating, Vivian moved abroad, but returned shortly after Cecilia. My investigation reveals Vivian already has a boyfriend, Ernest, from their graduating class. I suspect she used Cecilia as a replacement for their blind date because of Ernest.

Arnold relayed his findings to Zachary. Zachary's gaze was unreadable. He changed clothes and went downstairs, where he found Nathaniel and Stella, a picture of contentment. He hesitated, then chose not to share the day's events with Nathaniel.

At Ninth Ville, Cecilia received a despondent call from Vivian: "Ceci, I'm coming back tonight."

"How did it go? Did you find him?" Cecilia asked.

Vivian's voice tightened. "Yeah, I found him. But he's with another woman. It's over."

Cecilia offered no comfort. Vivian changed the subject. "How was the blind date? No trouble?"

"It's a long story," Cecilia replied, watching the sunset. "I'll come see you and Jon tonight. We'll talk then."

"All right."

Upon her return, Vivian hid her disappointment, saying nothing more about Ernest. Jonathan and she tactfully avoided questions, instead informing her about the day's blind date.

"Zachary? How could it be him? I should have clarified earlier," Vivian sighed.

"I'm worried he might retaliate," Cecilia admitted.

Vivian shrugged. "He's a grown man. Wouldn't he be embarrassed to pick on us?"

"I used to think so, but Zachary would do anything for Stella," Cecilia countered, revealing her low opinion of him.

Nearby, Jonathan, engrossed in a book, overheard. He surreptitiously uploaded photos of Zachary he'd taken earlier.

With some manipulation, by morning, the internet exploded. A shocking headline screamed: "Zachary, scion of a wealthy family, loses bladder control after drinking." A photo accompanied the articleโ€”one taken the previous night at the hotel, showing Zachary's wine-stained trousers and awkward departure.

Waking up, Vivian saw the news. "Ceci, look!" she exclaimed, grinning. "Did he get what he deserved?"

"Who would do this?" Cecilia gasped.

Meanwhile, at Sinclair Group, Zachary's face was thunderous. Arnold, trembling, reported, "The trending topic has been removed."

"Have you found the culprit?" Zachary demanded, anger burning in his eyes. He'd never endured such humiliation. The thought of "drunk and lost bladder control" enraged him. He vowed revenge.

Arnold shook his head. "No, sir. A fake IP address was used. We're investigating."

Zachary's expression darkened further. He had no recourse but to accept the situation. "I don't want to see this again."

"Yes, sir."

Elsewhere, Jonathan awoke to discover he could no longer access his online account.
