When Love Becomes 125

Listen to this chapter:

Due to her obesity, Divine had few true friends. She felt everyone gossiped about her.

Hearing Olive's words, her eyes reddened with tears. Her lips trembled; she was speechless.

Olive understood, caressing Divine's hands. "Divine," she said, "I always felt Greg wasn't right for you. Teenage love can be misguided. If you're hurt, consider it a learning experience. Use Greg's hurtful actions as motivation to care for yourself. Go home and take care. I look forward to seeing you happier. I love you." Olive smiled.

"I love you too, Olive," Divine muttered, hugging her. "Thank you so much. I will."

Olive patted Divine's back as she cried, releasing her low self-esteem.

Upstairs, Marvin, a frequently sleeping man, stood with hands in his pockets, quietly watching the girls. The cool breeze ruffled his curly hair. He was undeniably cold and arrogant.

His subordinate whispered, "Second Young Master, Olive is the new wife of the eldest Young Master—your sister-in-law."

Marvin remained silent.

"Second Young Master," the subordinate continued, "Mother wants you home. Considering your age, the Crystal family of the imperial city hopes…" He stopped, realizing Marvin wasn't listening.

Hudson disliked Olive. Even with her passing her checks, he suspected her background.

After Divine left, Olive turned to Hudson. "Let's go, sir."

"Olive, do you know whose granddaughter Divine is?" Hudson asked abruptly.

"Whose granddaughter is she?" Olive replied, genuinely unsure.

Hudson believed Olive must know Divine's identity to be so kind, but her clear eyes betrayed no knowledge.

He mumbled, "Forget it. Let's discuss your issue in the office."

In the office, Hudson stared at Olive. "Olive, you're married to the Red Villa. Is the photo of you with Elvis Augustine real?"

Olive nodded. "Yes."

Hudson frowned. "You're married, yet with Elvis, a prominent Los Angeles figure. I understand the temptations; many women succumb. It's not easy to refuse a man like President Augustine," he paused for breath. "I shouldn't interfere with your personal life, but speculation about your relationship with President Augustine damages our school's reputation."

"Director Hudson, what do you intend to do?" Olive asked calmly.

"It's a struggle. Everyone wants you out of the Ivory Council, but it's not simple. Your admission had nothing to do with President Augustine. You were nominated by the dean. What's your relationship with him?"

Olive frowned. "Director Hudson, I've met him a few times. He once gave me his number, suggesting I call if interested in the Ivory Council, saying the door was always open."

Hudson scoffed incredulously. The dean, a national scholar vital to medical advancements, wouldn't do that.

"Olive, you're young! How can you lie? Who do you think you are?" Hudson doubted her.

Olive shrugged. If he didn't believe her, there was nothing she could do. His skepticism surprised her.

"I'll call the dean and expose your lies!"

Olive shook her head, waiting calmly.

Hudson dialed. He expected her composure to crumble once her secret was revealed.

The dean answered. "Hello, Director Hudson."

"Sir, something's happened with Olive…"

"Olive?" The dean interrupted. "Is she there? Let me speak with her."

Hudson was puzzled by the dean's concern. He considered the possibility of Olive being the dean's daughter.

He gave Olive the phone. "Hello, good morning, sir."

"Olive, how are you?" The dean asked with concern—a gentleness Hudson had never heard.

"I'm fine, sir. Thank you."

"The Ivory Council is lucky to have you, Olive. Even if it's embarrassing for a teacher, I don't mind worshipping you," the dean exclaimed, chuckling.

Hudson was frozen. He couldn't understand this conversation. The esteemed scholar offering to worship a student?

"Olive, think about my offer. I'll wait," the dean added. Olive chuckled, "Okay, sir."

Hudson was dumbfounded. "By the way, was Director Hudson intending to tell me about your relationship scandal with President Augustine?"

Hudson started to defend himself, but Olive calmly interrupted, "Don't worry, Dean. Elvis Augustine is my legal husband."
