Chapter 104: Freshmen
"What?" Director Hudson glared angrily at Greg.
"Team leader, Greg, are Olive's words true?" he queried. Greg was expected to deny them.
"That's not true, Director Hudson. Pay no attention to Olive's nonsense. Olive, if you're going to call the police, do you have any evidence?"
Olive scoffed. "Of course, I have evidence. Divine got into your car outside Augustine Corporation's gate. You grabbed Divine's phone on the highway and left her behind." She took a deep breath. "Team leader Greg, do you really think there are no surveillance cameras outside Augustine Corporation? Or on the highway? I just need to request the CCTV footage, and your hypocrisy will be exposed."
Greg's face paled. "Olive, who do you think you are? How will you obtain the footage?"
"Then why don't you see if I can?"
Greg focused on Olive. She was only nineteen, but her black eyes were sharp and cold, as if she could perceive all the world's hypocrisy. She possessed a powerful aura.
Greg had always dismissed Olive as a country orphan, a high school graduate. Now, he knew he couldn't underestimate herโshe had Elvis behind her.
Olive noticed the shift in his expression. "What are you afraid of? Why didn't you think twice before provoking me?"
Greg clenched his fists. He hadn't anticipated such a rapid escalation. "Olive, what do you really want?" he asked, frightened.
"I have no issue with you. I just need you to apologize to Divine! If you don't apologize here, you'll apologize at the police station!"
Greg trembled. He didn't want to go to the police station; a case would ruin his excellent record.
He turned slowly to Divine, his clenched fist loosening. With a trembling voice, he said, "Divine, I'm sorry. I admit I stole your phone, used it to post those pictures, and left you on the highway. I'm sorry."
The students were dumbfounded. The reversal was shocking. How could Greg be such a person? Pamela felt numb, unprepared for his vulnerability.
Divine snorted coldly. "Greg, it's your duty to apologize; it's my duty to forgive you. I will never forgive you!"
Olive added calmly, "Greg, were you following anyone's orders?"
Pamela's heart pounded. Greg looked at her; she quickly avoided his gaze, her curled fingers betraying her panic.
Greg returned his gaze to Olive. He shook his head. "No. I merely looked down on you. I did everything myself. And no matter what, Olive, it won't change the fact that you cheated in your marriage!"
Olive hadn't expected his infatuation with Pamela would lead him to take the consequences alone.
She turned to Director Hudson. "Director Hudson, Greg framed his colleague. His behavior was vile. You will enforce the law and punish him severely, right?"
Director Hudson stared at Greg with disappointment. "Greg, you excelled as a student, becoming team leader after only two years. But you've made a grave mistake. I cannot tolerate this. You will be informed of your punishment. For now, you are relieved of your duties as team leader and will remain in the institute under observation."
Greg's body froze, his face ashen. His position, his efforts, his prideโall gone. He couldn't believe how he'd underestimated Olive. He was miserable.
"Olive, Greg's issue is resolved. Now let's deal with yours. Come to my office." Director Hudson left.
Passing Pamela, Olive subtly stepped on her foot.
"Olive!" Pamela gasped. Greg's defeat angered her, but her true goal was Olive's expulsion. "You must confess to Director Hudson about cheating in your marriage. You can leave the academy on your own initiative."
Olive licked her lips, laughing softly. "Let's make a bet: I won't leave this institute. Do you believe it?"
Pamela's eyes turned cold. She didn't believe it. Olive's marital infidelity was undeniable; she assumed the Ivory Council wouldn't retain her.
Olive, walking behind Director Hudson, stopped abruptly. "Director Hudson, I want to speak with Divine."
Hudson's expression was cold, but he nodded, "Go." He remained to listen.
Divine rushed to Olive, apologizing. "Olive, this is my fault. Getting into Greg's carโฆ"
"Divine, Elvis and I are together," Olive interrupted. Divine's eyes widened.
Olive smiled, taking Divine's hands. "It's not your fault. This is directed at me. Sooner or later, Elvis and I will make our relationship public."
Olive pressed something into Divine's hands. "This is for you."
Divine opened it, eyes fixed on Olive. "Olive, what's this?" she asked, staring at the medicinal recipe.
"A healthy food diet. It will help you manage your calorie intake and increase your protein intake."
"Oliveโฆ" Divine was speechless.
"I'm giving this to you so you can eat healthily and stay healthy."
