Chapter 117: Olive's 20th Birthday
Outside the gate, Patrick and Monica received confirmation: the enigmatic old man from the Red Villa would attend Olive's birthday party. Monica immediately shared the good news with Pamela, who was overjoyed. They returned to their luxurious car. Patrick called Olive. Her beautiful voice answered, "Hello, Dad."
"Olive, your twentieth birthday is in two days. You and Pamela share the same birthday. Dad's preparing a party for you; please attend."
"Okay, thank you, Dad," Olive replied.
After hanging up, Patrick sighed with relief. Everything was ready; they simply awaited the birthday.
"Patrick, don't worry. Pamela's always handled things well. In two days, she'll be announced to the world as Mrs. Augustine," Monica whispered, snuggling into Patrick's arms.
Since a recent scandal, Patrick and Monica had slept in separate rooms. Monica had been waiting for the right moment to reconcile. Now, with Pamela's plans progressing smoothly, Patrick was happy, but he hadn't forgotten Monica's past actions. He pushed her away.
"Monica, stay away from me. Have you forgotten what you did? You better stay away…"
"Patrick," Monica's hands fell to his chest, then lower. Her expression was one of pitiful innocence. "Yes, I was wrong. It's all my fault. For our precious daughter's sake, please forgive me. You're about to become the father-in-law of the richest man in Los Angeles. I promise to be faithful to you alone."
Monica had maintained her appearance. She possessed a feminine charm. Patrick was hesitant to accept her apology, but considering Monica's contributions to Pamela's life, he relented.
The entire Hart family was filled with joy and anticipation. Olive hung up and North laughed, "Olive, honestly, many people are waiting for your downfall. I can't wait for their disappointment."
Olive nodded. "You've been waiting a long time, haven't you?"
It was Olive's birthday. At 12:00 a.m., Olive's phone beeped. A message appeared: "Mrs. Augustine, happy birthday. I wish you the best and many more years to come."
Olive hugged her phone, feeling grateful. Mr. Augustine had waited up to send a birthday wish. "Thank you, Mr. Augustine," she replied.
Another message arrived: "Close to the window?"
"What do you mean?" Olive went to the window, opened the curtains, and gazed outside. She was awestruck by the magnificent fireworks display illuminating the sky.
North entered with a tray of noodles. Standing beside Olive, she inhaled deeply. "So he even lit up the entire city for you, aww," North murmured, admiringly.
Olive's phone beeped again: "Hope you like it, my lady."
Olive ate noodles, watching the fireworks, smiling as she felt blessed to have Elvis. Samantha and the dean also sent their wishes. Olive felt happy; her lover, family, and friends hadn't forgotten her day. Her heart was filled with the love and warmth she had longed for.
Early morning, Olive rushed to the six-star hotel. Social media was already abuzz.
"This is history! To celebrate Pamela's birthday, President Augustine used fireworks to light the entire city!"
"I heard President Augustine will attend Pamela's party."
"Mr. Augustine and Pamela should get married already!"
"I heard Olive's ghost husband from the Red Villa will be attending. There'll be a show!"
Olive saw many people anticipating drama. She entered the hotel; many of Pamela's fans were present, holding flowers and cheering. Olive spotted Pamela, surrounded by female celebrities.
"Pamela, what kind of love does Mr. Augustine have for you? Lighting up the entire city with fireworks is so romantic!"
"I knew Mr. Augustine was temporarily confused by that bastard, Olive. You're his true love."
"Pamela, don't forget us when you become Mrs. Augustine!"
The celebrities laughed. Pamela, in an elegant floral dress and crown, was the princess of the party, a sweet smile on her lips. Elvis had promised a surprise, but she hadn't expected this.
Now that Pamela was trending again, celebrities who had ridiculed her previously were now seeking her favor. It felt good.
Pamela saw Olive and smiled. "Olive, hope you're not mad I lit up the entire city… or are you?"
