Chapter 132: He's Looking for a Girl

Among the junior students, Professor Ruger favored Marvin most. For the past few years, Principal Bounty had hoped Marvin would speak at the Holy Nile Academy, but a recent surgery had prevented it. Therefore, seeing Marvin at the Ivory Council greatly puzzled Professor Ruger. Marvin was dressed in a shirt, its buttons undone.

“I know about Aunt’s arrival. I’ll go now,” Marvin said coldly, walking away.

Greg was elated. Pamela’s reassurances suggested their relationship would soon blossom into a romance. With Pamela, he felt confident he could defeat Olive and Divine, filling him with joy.

Olive continued her search for the book in the library. Greg watched from afar, feeling self-satisfied. Suddenly, a black sack fell over his head.

“What’s going on?”

“Who—”

Before he finished, fists slammed into his face. Marvin stood lazily, amused by Greg’s muffled cries. Phil, his subordinate, approached and handed Marvin a book.

“Second Young Master, here it is.”

Meanwhile, in the library, Olive's search for “Greater Doctor” remained fruitless. The vast library and her strenuous search left her sweating profusely. A handsome figure, familiar to her, approached. It was the man who liked to sleep—he’d helped her twice, though she didn’t know his name.

“Why is he here?” she wondered.

He stood by a corner bookshelf, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a book. Two girls nearby peeked and blushed.

“Wow, he’s really handsome.”

“Yes, he is. So alluring, I want to take a bite.”

Olive wasn't captivated, but her gaze fell upon the book in his hand: “Greater Doctor,” the very book she sought! She realized he'd been reading it.

Approaching cautiously, she coughed lightly and murmured, “Excuse me, could I borrow that book?”

Marvin stood straight. The library’s quiet atmosphere demanded respect. The slender girl before him possessed a beautiful voice. He was speechless.

Olive, embarrassed, turned to leave. “Hey, there you go!” Marvin unexpectedly threw the book to her. Olive caught it, then looked up to find the handsome, cold man vanished.

Back at the pharmacy, Marvin sat down as his phone rang. It was Bounty, the president of Holy Nile Academy—his aunt. He answered.

“Hello, Aunt?”

Bounty’s soothing voice responded, “Marvin, I just landed in LA. Where are you? I’ll pick you up; we’ll go to the Red Villa to see Grandma.”

“You don’t need to pick me up. Go ahead. I’ll be there later.”

“You must come tonight! You’ve been in Los Angeles for so long and haven’t visited Grandma. We’re having dinner at her place.” Marvin remained expressionless.

“Marvin, I spoke to your mother. Everyone’s worried about your marriage. I’m throwing a dinner party in two days. I’ve invited a talented girl here in Los Angeles. I’ll introduce you two.”

Marvin pursed his lips. “I don’t have time.”

“Marvin,” Bounty interrupted sternly, “Even as an Augustine descendant, you can’t dictate your marriage. You claimed to have met a girl in the Imperial City. You’ve spent over a year looking for her. The time allotted has passed. Have you found her yet?”

Phil, standing nearby, overheard. He knew his master was aloof and rarely attracted to women. Yet, years ago, in the Imperial City, he’d met a girl. A badly injured man lay bleeding in the street. The girl used a needle, while Marvin used a knife, performing a street surgery. The event caused a city-wide stir, but the girl left after saving the man. Marvin pursued her, but she’d already boarded a bus to Los Angeles. He’d come to Los Angeles in search of her, but to no avail.

“Marvin, the time’s up. You’re a great academician, noble, yet you left your career for LA to search for a girl. Almost a year has passed. If you haven’t found her, we must proceed with our plans. We can’t wait any longer!”

Marvin clutched his phone. After a moment of silence, he said quietly, “I’ve found her.”
