Chapter 183: Hug Him From Behind
Olive was stunned. The dean's voice crackled from the other end, "Olive, are you listening?"
"Yes, Dean, I am. Uh, I'm to go to the hotel to discuss the surgery plan, right?" Olive stalled, buying time to think.
"Yes, we usually conduct major surgical procedures in the hotel's business suite. Please come quickly; we're waiting at the Starzeal Hotel." Dean Sebastian provided the address and abruptly hung up.
Olive pocketed her phone and looked at Elvis, who stood behind her. "Do you want me to go?" she asked, her voice childlike, seeking his permission.
Elvis's expression was unreadable. He nodded. "The surgery is important to you. You're a doctor; your responsibility is to save people. Go ahead."
Meetings in hotel business suites were commonplace in the medical world. Dean Sebastian and Marvin were already waiting. Olive was a doctor, and Mrs. Robert needed her more than Elvis did.
Olive tiptoed, kissing Elvis's cheek. "Then I'll go."
"Yes, you should. Medicine is your career, and I won't let you choose between me and it," Elvis added.
His words warmed her heart. She pressed her face against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat. It was the most touching thing she'd ever heard him say. "But Olive," he continued, "you must act like a married woman. Keep your distance from any man who isn't me. Last time, you grabbed Marvin's shirt; I didn't say anything. I'm trying hard to trust you; don't make a fool of me..." He was interrupted by Olive, who wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. He held her tighter, kissing her passionately.
He hadn't told her Marvin was in L.A. for her. Marvin liked her, and Elvis decided it was best she didn't know.
Olive pulled away, smiling sweetly. "Mr. Augustine, I really must go."
She picked up her handbag and left the lounge. Elvis touched his lips, a faint smile playing on his face. Was that a farewell kiss?
After she left, Elvis returned to his office. He sat down and reviewed documents. A knock sounded. Andrew entered, whispering, "CEO, I've already assigned someone to monitor Bounty's movements."
Elvis signed the document. His handsome face remained impassive. Bounty's provocations were all within his territory. He could easily banish her from L.A., but he respected her as his aunt and didn't want to worry his grandmother.
"Understood," Elvis murmured.
"CEO, more news. Bounty has arrived at the Starzeal Hotel. Dean Sebastian is holding a press conference there today."
Elvis stopped writing. Olive was also at the Starzeal Hotel. She was a mysterious online figure; her qualifications were undisclosed. Dean Sebastian's press conference would reveal her academic background. His affection for Olive was obvious. Annoyed, Elvis dropped his pen.
Andrew saw his CEO's displeasure. He swallowed hard. "CEO, why don't you go to the Starzeal? Marvin, Bounty, and others will be there to witness your wife's qualifications being revealed. You should be there, too."
Elvis knew that after the press conference, Olive would be a captivating figure. He remembered their first meeting on the train. He'd known she was extraordinary, but he hadn't imagined how amazing she truly was.
He tugged at his shirt cuff. His phone rang—Olive. He answered.
"Did you leave already? Why are you calling?"
"Mr. Augustine, I'm leaving, but I can't find a taxi. No cabs are passing by," Olive sighed.
His face softened, a smile appearing. The Augustine Corporation's location made cabs scarce.
He licked his lips. "So, what does Mrs. Augustine want me to do?"
"Mr. Augustine, a favor? Could you drive me to Starzeal?"
His heart pounded, but his voice remained calm. "Hang on, I'll be there in a moment."
He grabbed his car keys and headed for the door. Andrew watched quietly; he knew his CEO was deeply in love.
Elvis reached the Augustine Corporation gate, standing beside his Rolls-Royce Phantom, searching for Olive. Then, two arms swiftly wrapped around him from behind.
