Chapter 234 Heโ€™s an Idiot!

Olive looked at Old Mrs. Samantha, who was weeping. Olive noticed the old woman's white hair seemed to have grown considerably.

"Grandma," Olive called.

"Olly, dear," Mrs. Samantha replied, embracing Olive. "Good Lord, it's been ages! Grandma misses you so much." She sobbed, stroking Olive's hair.

Olive missed the old lady dearly, but since her separation from Elvis, she hadn't dared visit, fearing Elvis would misinterpret it.

"Grandma, what's wrong with him? Why did he take a whole bottle of sleeping pills? Is he not sleeping well? Has his mental health deteriorated?"

The old lady shook her head. "Elvis told me nothing. I only learned about the sleeping pills when I arrived at the hospital. The doctor said his psychological indicators are abnormal. It's worsened over the past three years, and sleeping pills are all we can rely on."

Tears streamed down Olive's face. Resentment and hatred flared within her. Idiot! she thought, Didn't you insist on a divorce? Why are you now in a hospital bed?

"Grandma, can't his condition be treated? Didn't he see a doctor?" Olive asked.

"I hired a medical team from the Red Villa, but Elvis refused treatment. He kept sneaking outโ€”to see you, I believe." Mrs. Samantha held Olive's hand tightly. "Olive, this might sound selfish, but Elvis truly can't be without you."

Olive shook her head. "That's not true, Grandma. You don't know what happened. Elvis doesn't like me anymore; he doesn't want to see me. He initiated the divorce. I didn't want to tell you, Grandma, but Elvis stopped treating me well."

Mrs. Samantha wiped Olive's tears. "Olive, you little fool! How could you think Elvis doesn't want you? He loves you too much; that's why he wanted a divorceโ€”to push you away."

Olive was stunned. "I don't understand," she mumbled.

"Olive, have you been refining medicine for Elvis's illness?" Mrs. Samantha asked.

Olive froze, staring at the old lady in shock. She looked at Elvis's face. They knew.

"Olive, we all know," Mrs. Samantha continued. "Elvis told me. He said it was too difficult to keep you by his side; he felt he had nothing to offer. Olive, you're his medicine, but he couldn't help but push you away. If he had his way, the divorce wouldn't have happened. Elvis loves you so much."

Olive felt foolish. How could she believe he didn't like her anymore? He'd been pretending.

"But what happened with Pamela? Grandma, they were in the same room! I banged on the door, begging him to open it, but he ignored me." The memory pierced Olive's heart. Her suppressed resentment resurfaced.

"I won't accept excuses. He said he belonged to me; he said it was only me," Olive sobbed.

Old Mrs. Samantha's eyes hardened. While always favoring her grandson, she decided to be truthful. She wiped Olive's tears.

"Olly, stop crying. Elvis would feel terrible; he hates to see you cry," Mrs. Samantha comforted her.

But Olive's tears continued.

"Olive, there's something else Elvis didn't want me to tell you, but I've decided you should know. Be prepared."

"Grandma, what is it?" Olive asked, wiping her eyes.

"Pamela drugged Elvis with a powerful aphrodisiac. But that day, Elvis didn't touch Pamela. The blood on the sheets was hers."

Olive's tears stopped. "How could he not be affected by the drug?"

The old lady patted Olive's hand. "Elvis didn't touch Pamela. The drug was so potent he slashed his lower region with a knife."

Olive gasped, her pupils contracting. She looked down at his pants.

"Olive, I tell you this because I like you. Elvis can no longer perform, but it was his choice. Be proud; he left you without betraying or cheating on you. He hopes you'll start a new life with Marvin in Imperial, but he can't let you go."

Olive covered his face with trembling hands. He was even more annoying than she thought. She kissed his neck.

Leaving the ward, she headed to the doctor's office. Jasper Luke stood outside, smiling. "Miss Hart, my boss is inside." Olive opened the door.
