Chapter 255

The next morning, a luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom slowed to a stop before the gates of Bright Star University. In the back seat, Crystal shyly smiled at the driver, Elvis. "Elvis, we're here. Thank you for bringing me to school."

Elvis, impeccably dressed in a handmade white shirt and black trousers, looked exceptionally handsome. His large hand, adorned with an expensive watch, rested casually on the steering wheel. He regarded Crystal gently. "Study well."

"Okay, I'm getting off," Crystal said, opening the car door. It was peak school time, and as Bright Star University's beauty queen, Crystal was immediately surrounded by female students. "Crystal, you're here!" "Crystal, who drove you?"

They noticed the Rolls-Royce Phantom, a shockingly expensive vehicle with a prestigious number plate. Peeking inside, they saw Elvis. "Crystal, President Augustine brought you to school!" "Crystal, you and Mr. Augustine are so sweet! Are you going public?"

Rumors of Augustine and the Robert family's marriage circulated in Imperial, but Elvis remained publicly silent, preoccupied with work. His willingness to drive Crystal to school in such a luxurious car was, in itself, a public statement.

Crystal, looking sweetly at Elvis, leaned over and kissed his cheek. Gasps of surprise erupted from the surrounding students. Her face flushed. "I wanted to give you a goodbye kiss," she explained. "Elvis, I'm leaving now."

Elvis's expression remained unchanged. He simply nodded. "Okay."

"Can you pick me up this afternoon?" Crystal asked eagerly.

After a moment's thought, Elvis replied, "Yes."

Overjoyed, Crystal closed the car door and entered the university, surrounded by her classmates. Elvis watched her go, then the Rolls-Royce Phantom sped away.

At that moment, the Hart family's luxury car approached, the two vehicles briefly passing. Olive, in the back seat, instantly recognized Elvis's carโ€”an unmistakable Rolls-Royce Phantom. Her heart lurched. The Rolls-Royce's window slid down, revealing Elvis's familiar face for a fleeting moment before the car sped off.

"Dad, stop!" Olive cried.

Tom Hart slammed on the brakes. "Olive, what's wrong?" Mia asked, concerned.

Before Olive could answer, she leaped from the car and ran after the Rolls-Royce.

"Olive, what are you doing?" Mia repeated, worried.

Olive ignored her, chasing the receding car. Unable to keep pace, she stumbled, falling as the Rolls-Royce signaled a left turn.

"Mr. Augustine!" she cried out in shock.

"Olive!" Mia exclaimed, rushing to her daughter's side. "Why did you fall? Your hands are scraped. Does it hurt?"

Olive's palms were bleeding. "Mom, I'm fine. It's just a scratch."

"Nonsense! Get in the car," Mia insisted, tending to Olive's wounds.

Inside the Rolls-Royce, Elvis heard a soft cry. A sharp pain pierced his chest. He braked, his hand instinctively clutching his heart. He glanced in the rearview mirror, catching a glimpse of two figures across the roadโ€”Olive's form partially obscured by Mia. His gaze lingered, then shifted away. He dismissed it as an illusion, turned the car, and drove on.

Olive, no longer able to see the Rolls-Royce, slumped against her mother. "Mom, let's go," she whispered softly.
