Chapter 381

Olive, a scoundrel in the eyes of many, walked down the hallway and spotted Marvin. She stopped, her clear eyes meeting his handsome face. A wave of apology washed over her. A crowd had gathered, eager to witness the unfolding drama.

โ€œAcademician Augustine is here! I canโ€™t believe heโ€™d let himself be hurt by that woman!โ€

โ€œShe had an affair with her fiancรฉโ€™s older brother? How pathetic!โ€

โ€œOlive, please leave Academician Augustine alone. Weโ€™re all waiting for him.โ€

Olive felt the publicโ€™s anger. Without Marvin, she knew things might have escalated.

โ€œOlive, letโ€™s talk,โ€ Marvin said calmly.

โ€œOkay.โ€

Olive and Marvin entered Radio D and locked the door, shutting out the world.

โ€œMarvin, Iโ€™m sorry,โ€ Olive apologized.

Marvin shook his head. โ€œOlive, you donโ€™t have to apologize. You have no obligations to me. Weโ€™re not married, and you only gave me a chance.โ€

โ€œNo, Marvin, I need to apologize. Iโ€™m truly sorry.โ€ Oliveโ€™s clear eyes held his gaze. Marvin froze; he understood her insistence.

โ€œOlive, youโ€™ve made your choice, havenโ€™t you? You still chose Elvis?โ€ He paused. โ€œBefore, you didnโ€™t want to hurt me, but nowโ€ฆ choosing him only hurts me more. I deserve better.โ€

โ€œMarvin, there are unresolved issues between Elvis and me. Whether we get back together is another matter. But apart from Elvis, I canโ€™t imagine loving anyone else. I feel guilty about the confusion Iโ€™ve caused him.โ€ Olive sighed. โ€œMarvin, we can still be friends. I canโ€™t bring you happiness; Iโ€™m not worthy of you. Youโ€™ll meet someone who loves you as you deserve.โ€

Marvinโ€™s heart ached as he looked into her honest eyes. Olive was his first love, unforgettable. Reluctant to pressure her, he said, โ€œI respect your decision, Olive. Iโ€™ll announce weโ€™re no longer engaged. We can still be friends.โ€

โ€œYes, weโ€™ll always be friends,โ€ Olive replied, touched by his words.

The Augustine Corporation buzzed with activity. Given Elvisโ€™s recent headlines, numerous reporters gathered outside, eager for an interview. A Rolls Royce Phantom arrived; Andrew opened the back door, revealing Elvisโ€™s impeccably dressed form. He stepped out, his fitted black suit contrasting sharply with the accusations of perversion leveled against him. The reporters surged forward.

โ€œPresident Augustine, whatโ€™s your relationship with Olive?โ€

โ€œIs Olive in love with two brothers? Will you fight over her?โ€

โ€œMr. Augustine, how are you coping? Olive hurt you; did you seek help?โ€

The reportersโ€™ questions came rapidly. Bodyguards intervened, blocking them.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry, our CEO isnโ€™t giving interviews,โ€ Andrew announced.

Elvis had already entered the building, his employees trailing behind.

In the presidentโ€™s office, Andrew found Elvis reviewing documents.

โ€œBoss, should we have PR shut down the online comments?โ€ Andrew asked cautiously.

โ€œNo need,โ€ Elvis replied without looking up.

Andrew, sensing Elvisโ€™s reluctance to discuss things, left.

The office fell silent. Elvis finished his work, leaned back on the sofa, adjusted his tie, and checked his phone. No calls or texts from Olive. He smirked, placed his phone on the table, and closed his eyes. A memory surfaced: a cold night, Olive pushing him into a bush, her hair scattered around her face, as he held her close.
