Chapter 406: This is Your End!

At that moment, Elvis glanced aside and saw Damien staring intently at Olive, a look of concern etched on his face. Elvis narrowed his eyes, a hint of displeasure evident. Everyone present seemed to harbor a secret. Marvin and Charlotte arrived, and the host, microphone in hand, announced, “Today, Augustine and Paulo are celebrating their wedding. Before the ceremony, let’s view the happy couple’s wedding photos.” Charlotte, radiant in her wedding gown, stood on the red carpet, her arm linked with Marvin’s. She too, looked up at the large screen, anticipating the display of her beautiful wedding photograph, eager for the admiration and envy of the guests. Everyone’s gaze turned to the screen. The screen illuminated, but instead of a wedding photo, a surveillance video appeared.

The video, filmed in Robert’s home office, showed Mrs. Robert and Nora engaged in a heated argument. A maid then entered with a bowl of bird’s nest. Nora accepted it, and the video zoomed in on her wedding ring. She subtly twisted the ring, releasing a colorless, odorless drug that dissolved instantly into the bird’s nest. She then presented the bowl to Mrs. Robert, who consumed its contents. Nora feigned departure, but Mrs. Robert clutched her chest, falling unconscious. Nora turned, a sinister smile playing on her lips as the video froze on her chilling expression.

Nora stiffened as she watched, feeling a forceful hand push her into a cold abyss. Her eyes widened in disbelief. Where had this video come from? Why was it playing at this wedding? “Stop it!” she cried, rushing forward, frantically pleading, “Turn off the screen! Turn it off!” But it was too late. The audience reacted with shock and outrage: “Oh my God, what did I see? Did Nora really… poison the old lady?” “That’s a crime! She’ll go to jail!” “Her smile… it gave me goosebumps!”

“Didn’t Nora claim Mrs. Robert fainted upon learning of Crystal’s suicide attempt?” Nora heard the accusations, felt the weight of everyone’s judgment. Her body trembled as she shouted, “No! It’s not true! It’s not true!” She was Mrs. Robert, the formidable Mrs. Robert! How dare they disparage her?

Mrs. Robert coldly interjected, “Nora, I offered you a chance. A divorce, and I would handle this privately. But you’ve sealed your fate.” Nora stared at Mrs. Robert, bewildered. Why hadn’t she died? She accused Olive, “Olive, this is all your fault!”

Olive, poised and composed, replied, “I gave Mrs. Robert a heart-protecting medication to thwart your plan. Nora, on Mrs. Robert’s 80th birthday, you tried to drown me in the swimming pool! Then you attempted to murder her. You’ll spend the rest of your life in prison, repenting for your cruelty.”

The gates swung open, and police officers arrived, taking Nora into custody. Olive addressed her, “Nora, your crimes are proven. This is your end.” Her words hung in the air, a life sentence pronounced. Everyone was stunned by Olive’s decisive action. A young woman who had been dismissed by Nora from a radio station now had her incarcerated. Her strength and courage were admirable. While shocked by Nora's actions, many couldn't believe she had become a killer.

Crystal rushed to her mother's side, blaming Olive, “Olive, why are you so cruel? You almost killed me, and now you’re destroying my family!” She was horrified by the revelation, unable to accept her mother's guilt. Public sympathy leaned toward Crystal, particularly regarding the wrist-slashing incident. Someone declared, “Even if Nora deserves this, Crystal is innocent. Olive is to blame for Crystal’s suicide attempt. There's no excuse for that!”

Olive's gaze met Crystal's. “Crystal, you still claim I made you cut your wrists? Show us your wounds.” Crystal, defiant, lifted her sleeve, displaying her wrist. Then, a look of dawning realization swept across her face as she froze.
