Chapter 409

"No, he doesn't," Olive declared, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "The fun has only just begun!" Her clear eyes darkened, yet a bright smile played on her lips. The elegance and sparkle in her gaze were captivating. Elvis, understanding her intentions, frowned. "Do you still want to ruin Marvin's wedding? Does his marrying someone else bother you so much?"

Olive looked at him softly. "Marvin is my friend. I can't abandon him." Elvis's frown deepened.

By then, Marvin and Charlotte had reached the pastor, who began the ceremony. "Bride Charlotte, do you agree to marry Marvin?" he asked.

Charlotte, smiling sweetly, shyly glanced at Marvin. "Yes, I do."

The pastor turned to Marvin. "Groom Marvin, do you want to marry Charlotte?"

Marvin pursed his lips, about to speak, when Olive's clear voice cut through the air: "No, he doesn't."

All eyes swiveled to Olive. A collective gasp rippled through the crowd. Was the drama of a husband with two wives about to unfold?

Mr. Paulo, ever watchful of Olive, felt a surge of unease. The Paulo family's reputation was already tarnished; he dared not act rashly, hoping to salvage the situation and deal with Olive later.

Initially, Olive's unexpected actions had caught everyone off guard, leaving Mr. Paulo feeling passive and heartbroken after Nora's sacrifice. He needed Charlotte to marry Marvin to bolster the Paulo family's standing. Yet, he sensed Olive's unwavering resolve to intervene in Marvin's life.

Hearing her voice, Mr. Paulo rose to his feet, accusingly. "Olive, as a guest, I tolerated your disruption at my granddaughter's wedding, but I don't understand your actions now. We must proceed with the wedding. I order you to leave!"

Charlotte, clinging tightly to Marvin's arm, glared at Olive with hostility. "Olive, don't push it! You have Elvis, and now you want Marvin? What are you doing?"

With Olive openly challenging the wedding, public opinion turned against her. Her recent purchase of birth control pills had been exposed, and Elvis had publicly defended her against reporters. However, the internet had a long memory.

"Although I always thought Charlotte unworthy of our Academic Augustine," one guest commented, "compared to Olive, I'm on Charlotte's side." Another chimed in, "Olive just left her brother's bed and came here to wreck his wedding! Even a temptress wouldn't be so brazen."

Lily, having witnessed Olive's previous actions, was unsurprised by her interference. However, this attack on her son's marriage was too much. She stood, denouncing Olive to Mr. Paulo and Charlotte. "Olive, leave my son alone! This is his wedding. Leave!"

The crowd sided against Olive. Olive's gaze fell on Lily. "Mrs. Augustine, you only care about this wedding? Don't you care about your son's health?"

Lily froze. "What do you mean? What's wrong with my son?"

Mr. Paulo and Charlotte's hearts skipped a beat. Had Olive discovered something? No, the poison was Jean's creation; a normal person wouldn't detect it. Mr. Paulo looked around, unable to find Jean. He knew Jean had gone to find Olive, yet his absence fueled a growing sense of dread.

Charlotte, suppressing her fear, glared at Olive. "Olive, stop this nonsense! Marvin is fine. We love each other!"

Olive sneered, her gaze fixed on Lily. "Mrs. Augustine, haven't you noticed your son's unusual behavior lately? His unfocused eyes? His erratic temper? His unusual obedience to Charlotte?"

Lily's pupils constricted. She'd vaguely sensed something was off. Olive's words confirmed her suspicions.

Olive revealed the truth: "Marvin has been hypnotized and manipulated. Jean Paulo poisoned him, and the beneficiary is your future daughter-in-law, Charlotte!"

The revelation sent shockwaves through the crowd. Olive's gaze locked onto Mr. Paulo and Charlotte, cold and unforgiving. "The Paulo family, a medical family, can poison anyone they choose."

Lily stormed onto the stage, pushing Charlotte away. "You poisoned my son! Get out!"

Charlotte's wedding dress caught on the floor. Lily's forceful shove caused Charlotte to fall, tearing a large hole in her dress, revealing her thighs. Gasps erupted from the onlookers.

Charlotte screamed, covering herself. Her humiliation was complete. She cried out to Marvin, "Marvin, help me!"

Marvin pushed Lily away, coldly stating, "Get out!"

Lily stared, dumbfounded. Her son not only pushed her but also scorned her. Desperate, she pointed at Charlotte, her voice trembling with rage. "You manipulated my son! I won't let you go, or your family!"
