Chapter 481: Olive Disappeared
Elvis, a shrewd man, had long suspected Olive. His mind sharpened under pressure, and though he'd deceived himself, the answer was always there. He couldn't believe Olive would kill their childโhe truly couldn't. Yet, the surveillance footage confirmed his suspicions. It was all part of Olive's plan: eliminating Charlotte to lure Crystal, then framing her. Now, with the child gone, Olive had indeed done it herself.
Peterson watched Elvis anxiously. "Young Master, are you alright?" he asked, deeply concerned. The woman Elvis loved had killed his child; it was unbearable. Elvis lit a lighter, the red flames illuminating his handsome face. He asked in a low voice, "Have you checked Crystal's phone?"
"I have. Miss Hart borrowed Crystal's phone, calling the resort hotel front desk, then transferring to staff number 309. The recordโฆ disappeared."
Elvis gritted his teeth. "Where's staff number 309?"
"Gone, boss."
Elvis's lips thinned. Who was staff 309? Lately, he'd sensed Olive was waiting for someone. Was it 309? What was she planning? A sudden thought struck him. He stood, saying, "Go back to the hospital! Now!" He rushed out.
The urgency was clear to Peterson. Olive had likely escaped while Elvis was at the hospital earlier that morning. Sheโd used the miscarriage as cover; everyone focused on the lost child, forgetting she was a doctor, the hospital her domain. Peterson felt something was wrong. Even if she escaped, Damien Robert, Alpha Augustine, and Logan Theodore awaited her. How could she leave Imperial?
Elvis burst back into the hospital. The VIP ward was empty. Olive was gone. His hunch was right; she'd escaped, intending to leave. His heart pounded. Had she simply left? Was there no love left? He quickly called a number. A deep voice answered, "Hello."
"Father-in-law, Olive is gone," Elvis said calmly.
Damien was silent for a moment. "I see. Once she leaves, she'll fall into Logan's hands. She's with Logan now."
"Logan will take her to Greenland, right?"
"Yes, but I'm curious how he'll leave Imperial."
Elvis frowned. "I'll try to follow them," he said before hanging up.
Damien hung up and turned to Alpha. "Do you think Logan can get Olive out of Canada?" Imperial was controlled by the Roberts and Augustines; escape was nearly impossible.
Alpha lit a cigarette. "I believe he can," he said, nodding.
Damien frowned. "Damien, you don't know much about Joyce. When she arrived in Imperial City, nobody knew how. Logan, her ex-fiancรฉโฆ" Damien corrected him. "โฆmust know something. Otherwise, Olive wouldn't have let herself be caught by Logan."
Damien agreed. Olive was intelligent. She knew she'd be captured, yet she left. She wanted Logan to get her out.
"Damien, Joyce chose you for your perfect genes. Olive is smart, courageous, and strategic," Alpha said. "She's the protagonist in this battle, facing many opponents. For a twenty-year-old to outmaneuver you, Alpha, and Loganโฆ she's incredibly brilliant."
Damien admitted to initial depression when he believed Crystal was his daughter, but knowing Olive was his child brought him relief. He asked, "Is the person you're looking for here?"
Alpha nodded. "He's here. Olive found him. The seventh god. Joyce's student. He knows too many secrets. He's finally here." Years of waiting were over; the long-buried past was about to be revealed.
Olive was with Logan, who waited outside the hospital with his staff. She sat calmly in his luxury car, watching Imperial recede in the distance.
