Chapter 482
“Olive, don’t make me angry!” Logan sat beside Olive. Seeing her calm demeanor, he smiled curiously. “Olive, do you know where I’m taking you?”
Olive nodded. “Of course. You’re taking me from Canada to your territory, Greenland.”
“Since you know, why are you so calm?”
Olive’s bright eyes met his. “I’m calm because I know someone will save me soon. Logan, this is Imperial. If I’m right, the Imperial City is locked down. How will you get me out?”
Olive’s aggressive tone betrayed her knowledge of Logan’s radical nature. “We’ll leave smoothly. There’s a secret passage no one knows about.”
“A secret passage?” Olive’s eyes lit up. Her guess about Logan was correct. “My mother used a secret route when she came from Greenland to Canada, didn’t she?”
“Olive, you’re as smart as your mother. Yes, that’s the route she used.” A feeling of closeness to her mother washed over Olive.
Half an hour later, their bulletproof black luxury car stopped. Logan personally opened the door for Olive. “Olive, we’re here.”
Olive stepped out, her pupils constricting slightly. This was familiar territory—the backyard of the Academy of Sciences. Before her stood a dark red door with a lock, guarding a forbidden area. She had once stolen the key from Nora and snuck in, encountering two wolves. She never expected to return.
Logan held a key. He opened the door with a click, revealing a dark red entrance that creaked open. He gestured for Olive to enter.
Olive walked into the dark forest, its end unseen. Logan led the way, clearly familiar with the path. “Olive, walk carefully, follow me closely. Don't stray; there’s something your mother left here. The formation will cause you to fall if you enter it.”
Olive immediately recognized the cliff from her last visit—her mother’s formation. She had nearly fallen then, but Elvis had saved her. The formation hadn't affected Elvis. Was he hiding a secret? Olive hadn't expected Elvis’s involvement; she felt he should be separate from all this, yet he always seemed entangled.
Suddenly, Olive felt soft soil beneath her foot. The next second, Logan's hand clamped onto her wrist, pulling her back. “Olive! Did you listen to me? You almost stepped into the formation! If I hadn't pulled you out, you would be dead!”
Olive’s intelligent eyes flashed. Her mind raced. This time, entering the formation revealed nothing, unlike last time when the second treasure chest was visible. Why? Though her heart raced, her face remained impassive. “Let’s go. I’ll follow you closely this time.”
Logan led the way, avoiding the formation, through a secret passage. Olive followed, memorizing the route. As they reached the end, the light of dawn appeared. Greenland lay ahead—Logan’s territory, and escape would be difficult.
“Olive, Greenland is right before us. I said I'd take you out of Canada, and no one could stop me.”
Olive replied calmly, “Mr. Logan, I think you miscalculated. Look up and see who’s ahead.”
Logan looked up to see Damien and Alpha emerging from the dusk. Damien smiled. “Logan, where were you taking my daughter? I told you, you couldn’t escape with her.”
Logan shook his head in disbelief. No one should know about this passage. Damien had somehow anticipated his move. “Damien, how did you know I was here?”
Olive smiled. “Logan, I can answer that. Someone watches me 24/7. Didn’t you notice?”
Logan hadn’t noticed anyone following. This person was incredibly stealthy. Then, another group approached—Elvis leading the way.
Olive’s bright eyes met Elvis’s. She knew he knew everything—about her killing their child, about her escape attempt. Their gazes locked. His deep, narrow eyes showed disappointment. He extended a hand. “Olive, come here.”
Olive’s eyes welled. She shook her head. “Elvis, let me go. We’re done.”
“Olive, don’t make me angry,” he warned.
Ray appeared, swiftly grabbing Olive and pulling her to Elvis’s side. Logan stared at Ray and Peterson, standing behind Elvis.
