Chapter 537 I like you~
Oliveโs eyes widened. Wanting to escape, she said, โElvis, stop. I donโt wantโฆโ Footsteps sounded outside; it was Lilโ Nathan. He knocked, then tiptoed to the doorknob. Olive, breathless with fear, shoved Elvis. โElvis, Nathanโs outside! Weโll scare him if we donโt get out.โ This time, Elvis didnโt relent. His voice hoarse, he pressed his palm to Oliveโs face, rasping, โIf you donโt want Nathan to come in, donโt speak. Aunt Layla will handle it.โ
Olive stared, surprised. Aunt Layla? But sheโd guess what they were doing. โElvis, no! Let me go. I miss Nathan. Let him in!โ Elvis, losing patience, frowned and shouted, โWhere is everyone? Are you all dead?โ His large hand circled behind her, pressing on the back of her head.
Aunt Layla, preparing fruit for a cake, heard a muffled sound from the kitchen. Terrified, she dropped the fruit and rushed to Nathan. Seeing him by the door, she started to open it, but the closed kitchen door revealed all. "Goodness," she thought, "my master is truly shameless!"
โNathan, letโs go. Aunt Layla will take you out!โ
Lilโ Nathan shook his head, curious about the kitchen. He looked at Aunt Layla and whispered, โAunt Layla, is Dad bullying Miss Fairy?โ Aunt Layla blushed. She hadnโt realized the man of the house was this way; now she had to guard the door?
โNathan, I just saw your dad. He has something important to tell Miss Hart. Donโt disturb them. Letโs pick some flowers backstage, then weโll come back.โ
Lilโ Nathan considered, then nodded, โOkay.โ Aunt Layla took him away.
Half an hour later, Lilโ Nathan returned from the garden. The kitchen door opened, and Elvis emerged, wearing a white shirt and black trousers, one shirttail tucked in, the other hanging loosely. His handsome face held a decadent satisfaction.
โDad!โ Lilโ Nathan ran to him. Elvis, in a good mood, bent down, touched Nathanโs face, and smiled. โNathan, Dad will play with you, okay?โ
Lilโ Nathan peered into the empty kitchen. โDad, whereโs the teacher? Where did she go?โ
Elvis shrugged. โThe teacher is tired. She went to rest. Nathan, Dad will play with you.โ
โNo.โ Lilโ Nathan pulled away, and ran upstairs. He wanted to play with Miss Fairy, not his father.
In the bathroom, Olive vomited until her bile ran dry. Weakened and pale, she felt utterly disgusted. Then, a clickโthe bedroom door opened, and Lilโ Nathan rushed in.
Olive quickly stood, rinsed her mouth, and whispered, โNathan, Iโm here.โ He ran to her, gripping her calves, and smiled sweetly. Olive, touching his head, asked, โNathan, why are you here? Isnโt Dad playing with you?โ
โBut I just want you, Miss Fairyโฆโ Oliveโs heart melted. He was her little angel.
Olive lay on the bed; Lilโ Nathan lay beside her. โMiss Hart, are you sick?โ
Olive nodded. โNathan, my stomach hurts. Can I make you a cake another day?โ
Lilโ Nathan quickly ran out. Olive was startled, then felt warmth on her stomach. Heโd brought a pitcher of warm water. She shivered, then saw him trying to put it on her lap. โMiss, that way your stomach wonโt hurt,โ he smiled sweetly.
He was only three, but so caring. Her Lilโ Nathan wasnโt cold; his heart was very soft. Oliveโs eyes filled with tears. She hugged him, kissing his forehead. โNathan, thank you. I like you so much.โ
โMiss, I like you tooโ,โ Lilโ Nathan kissed her face, then fell asleep in her arms. Olive held him close, feeling comforted and gradually better.
A click. The door opened, and Elvis entered. He saw two figures on the bed, mother and child. The dim light cast a soft glow on them. Elvis stretched out, pulling the blanket over them. Olive slept, her back to him, holding Lilโ Nathan. He drew close, holding her from behind, burying his face in her hair, inhaling her scent.
Olive, awake, stiffened at his touch. The kitchen had been a nightmare. She whispered, โMy stomach hurts. Canโฆ can I go to bed early?โ
Elvisโs eyes slowly opened. He lay back.
