Chapter 568: Scolded Him
Liam, taken aback by Olive's presence, slowly raised his lips and said, โPrincess Olive, I've already been invited aboard your ship; I can't leave even if I wanted to.โ
โKing Liam, then Iโll be happy to work with you,โ Olive replied, elegantly sipping her coffee. The matter of Miss Trixieโs disappearance had caused a public uproar. To stabilize the situation, Logan must have detained Thomasโฆ
โPrincess Olive, is my father in danger?โ Trixie asked urgently.
Sadie stood up, explaining, โMiss Trixie, when Logan was about to detain your father, he suffered a myocardial infarction and collapsed.โ
Trixieโs expression changed drastically. โMy father only has one daughter. I'm going to see him,โ she declared, rushing towards the door. But just then, Thomas entered.
โFather, why are you here? Weren't you seriously injured?โ Trixie asked nervously.
Thomas, a sixty-year-old military general, despite his humiliation, was in surprisingly good spirits, though disguised in black. Seeing his daughter was safe, he focused on Olive. โTrixie, this is all arranged by Princess Olive.โ
โWhat does that mean?โ Trixie asked, puzzled.
Olive, putting down her chess piece, stepped forward, smiling. โMiss Arthur, I visited you and your father last night, but your loyalty to the royal family prompted him to immediately dismiss me.โ
Thomas recounted the previous night's events: โPrincess Olive had reached the door, but paused, warning me of an impending accident. She said if they detained me, they would kill me to eliminate future problems.โ He paused. โI angrily rebuked her. I, Thomas Arthur, after serving the Imperial Army for over forty years with unwavering loyalty, didnโt deserve such treatment!โ
Trixie, understanding her father's foolish loyalty, asked, โFather, what happened next?โ
โThen Princess Olive scolded me,โ he replied.
โOh, this is getting interesting,โ Liam remarked curiously. โI'm very interested in how Princess Olive scolded the army leader.โ
โShe pointed at me and angrily called me a stupid pig!โ Thomas recounted, causing Liam and Trixie to laugh. Olive was the only one who dared to do so.
Liam joked, โI didn't expect Princess Olive to be not only witty but also brave enough to barge into people's homes and scold them.โ
Olive warned, โKing Liam, this isnโt the time for jokes.โ
Thomas continued, โShe called me a stupid pig and then said my death would be pitiful because Logan and Aaron would kill all the loyal generals who served alongside me. It would be unfair to let them die.โ
He continued, โShe said you, Trixie, would become a fugitive, and if I failed to protect my family, what would I say to my ancestors? She reminded me of Logan and Aaronโs cruelty, my deliberate ignorance of their wickedness, and asked if my loyalty was to the Royal Family or all of Greenland. Then she left.โ
Liam and Trixie were speechless, staring at Olive's elegant composure. Trixie said, โPrincess Olive, my father is still your elder. You scolded him so fiercelyโฆโ She paused, laughing, โBut why do I think your scolding was perfectly timed and wonderful?โ
Everyone laughed. Thomas stood tall, clenching his fists, nodding slowly. โPrincess Olive, after hearing your words last night, I feel forty years of my life were wasted.โ
Olive quickly approached, supporting him. โMr. Arthur, I apologize for my rudeness last night.โ
Thomas declared, โPrincess Oliveโs courage is truly admirable. King Liam, if you donโt mind, Iโll serve you.โ
Liam smiled, โWith the army leaderโs help, the king will definitely succeed.โ
Olive, leaving with Sadie, said, โKing Liam, my gift is delivered. Please treat Mr. and Miss Arthur to a meal.โ
Liam, after Olive left, turned to Thomas, โMr. Arthur, please sit.โ Trixie left with a maid.
Liam asked Thomas, โWhat do you think of Princess Olive?โ
Thomas pondered, โPrincess Olive is not someone to be trifled with. In the future, sheโll be unstoppable. After all, who says women are inferior to men?โ
