Chapter 570: Have You Seen Her Yet?
Annabelle was returning to see her biological mother one last time. Although her mother was dying, Joyce had taken her for coffee. Olive was about to find them when Sadie opened the door of a luxurious car, respectfully saying, โHer Royal Highness, please get in.โ Olive paused, noticing a tall, handsome figureโAlpha Augustine. She knew he'd been searching for Annabelle for years; her reappearance had brought him out sooner than expected. Olive approached him, saying, โUncle Augustine, itโs been a while.โ
An extended luxury car was parked nearby. Alpha, in a black suit, stood tall and straight. A classy, handsome man in his fifties, his wrinkles only added to his mature presence. Standing before the former head of the Augustine family and founder of Augustine Corporation, Olive felt a pang of youthful inexperience. Alphaโs deep eyes settled on Oliveโs face, then lingered on her safety lock earrings. โHave you seen Annabelle yet?โ he asked.
Annabelle, formerly of the Midas family, had captivated Imperial City. She'd entered the jewelry industry at eighteen, and Fly Jewelry remained a major brand, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. Recognizing the earrings' design, Alpha knew instantly they were Anabelle's creation. She was exceptionally talented, her creativity unparalleled.
Olive shook her head. โNot yet.โ Alpha's gaze held hers; she met it calmly, unflinching. A slight smile played on his lips. โReally?โ he asked.
โUncle Augustine, I havenโt seen Aunt Annabelle yet,โ Olive replied. โAccording to the plan, my mother and Aunt Annabelle should be at my wedding with King Liam.โ While a lie, it held a kernel of truth, reflecting the original intention.
Alpha nodded. โThatโs fine. If you see her, let me know.โ
โOkay.โ
Alpha entered his car and drove away. Olive found his easy departure unusual; she knew him to be shrewd. โHer Royal Highness, letโs get in the car,โ Sadie said politely. Olive entered her own car and departed.
Unbeknownst to Olive, Alphaโs car had merely parked across the road. Through the window, he watched her speed away, then turned to the boy beside him. โNathan, your mother must have contacted your grandmother. Track her phone signal and locate your grandmotherโs location,โ he instructed.
Nathan, seated beside his grandfather, had seen his mother but she had left. โGrandfather, is this alright? If Mum finds out, she might not like me,โ he murmured.
Alpha responded, โOkay, Nathan, Iโm not your mother. Itโs not the first time youโve done this.โ
Nathan frowned. โGrandfather, are you threatening me?โ
Alpha leaned back lazily. โYou can consider this a negotiation.โ
Nathan considered it. โAlright, but Grandfather, you canโt tarnish my reputation with Mum.โ
Alpha agreed. Nathan activated his phone, quickly locating the address: โHibiscus Building.โ
Alpha's secretary, Aiden, stated, โSir, the Hibiscus Building is Greenlandโs largest shopping mallโa paradise for women.โ
โLetโs go!โ Alpha commanded.
Inside, their presence attracted attention. Women gathered, gossiping. โWow, that little boy is so cute!โ โIs that his son or grandson? So adorable!โ
Nathan looked at Alpha. โGrandfather, they think Iโm your son.โ Alpha ignored them. He looked at Nathan. โWhereโs your grandmother? Lead the way.โ
โCome with me,โ Nathan said, coldly leading the way to a clothing store. Levi sat on a sofa, waiting for Anabelle. Sales associates surrounded him, attempting to keep him company. Levi, accustomed to female attention since childhood, smiled sweetly. โYouโre all so young, how could you have a child my age?โ
