Chapter 582: She Couldnโt Wait To Marry Liam?
Oliveโs eyes darkened. Why hadnโt he spoken? Did he truly plan to marry Clara? She moved, her gaze falling on his trousers. She quickly retracted her head, distancing herself. Elvis, noticing her apparent fear, immediately refused Claraโs proposal. Oliveโs tension eased. Clara, disappointed, responded, โYou donโt have to answer so quickly. As long as CEO Augustine doesnโt have a wife, I will wait for you.โ
Mollyโs swift reply revealed her dissatisfaction with Elvisโs rejection. Clara, the most honorable princess in Greenland, had more than a hundred suitors, yet Molly had actively pursued Elvis for her. Oliveโs sharp gaze intensified. Knowing Molly was a Merwoman who had been in Greenland for years, influencing Logan, Olive wondered if Molly knew about Elvisโs background. The Mermenโs involvement between Greenland and Visionary seemed to have begun sooner than sheโd anticipated.
Elvis, lounging elegantly on the dark red sofa, replied with chilling directness, โWell, thatโs if I decide to get married.โ Molly, though rejected, smiled contentedly. โMr. Augustine, I must leave now. Clara, make President Augustine some coffee,โ she said, leaving the two alone.
Clara approached Elvis. โMr. Augustine, havenโt you forgotten about Olive? Do you still like her?โ Oliveโs heart leaped. Did he still care for her? Elvisโs eyes briefly met hers, but he avoided the question. Oliveโs eyes dimmed; she knew the answer. Their past was just thatโpast.
Clara sat beside him. โOlive doesnโt like you anymore. I heard the royal family has set a wedding date. In a few days, she and Liam will be engaged.โ Olive felt a surge of anxiety. Claraโs proximity allowed her to easily see Olive. Suddenly, Elvis moved, his long legs strategically blocking Olive from view. Olive, now nestled close to his leg, found their posture intensely ambiguous. His closeness pressed against her face. She barely breathed, afraid to move.
Though speaking to Clara, Elvisโs attention remained fixed on Olive. โPrincess Olive and King Liamโs engagement is remarkably swift,โ he observed. โYes, I heard Olive proposed it. Sheโs eager to marry Liam,โ Clara replied innocently.
Elvisโs eyes narrowed. Could she truly not wait to marry Liam? A playful yet dangerous curve touched his lips. He shifted closer, his leg brushing her face. Oliveโs eyelashes fluttered. What was he doing? Clara was right there! Olive pushed against his leg, but his strength was immense. She bit her lip and pinched him.
Elvis, realizing he'd been teasing her, felt a pang of regret. Her nearness was undeniably ambiguous. He hadn't expected her to pinch him so hard. He let out a breath and frowned.
Clara, noticing his discomfort, asked, โMr. Augustine, whatโs wrong?โ Olive, hidden beneath the coffee table, froze. Elvisโs low voice, laced with amusement, broke the silence. โI donโt knowโฆit seems I was bitten by a kitten.โ Clara looked around. โThereโs no cat here.โ Elvis smirked. โAre you sure, Princess Clara? Didnโt you hear the kittenโs meow?โ Olive suspected this was deliberate; he'd essentially made her meow.
