Chapter 603

Nathan, do you choose Mom or Dad?

Olive, suddenly strangled, gasped for air, her pretty face reddening. Elvisโ€™s long, narrow eyes blazed with bloody hostility; a fierce storm brewed beneath them, threatening to consume her. This woman! She needed aphrodisiacs with him, sheโ€™d said. He was terrible in bed, his filth repulsive, every moment sickening. These words stabbed at his heart, reopening a wound that never healed.

Elvis glared, his eyes bright red. Her neck was in his grasp; a little force would snap her delicate neck. He wanted to kill her, to strangle the life from her. โ€œOlive, do you want to die?โ€ Each harsh syllable sent chills down spines.

Oliveโ€™s slender back pressed against the cold wall. She felt his fingers tighten, the air thinning. Was this death? No. She had work to do. She pushed him. โ€œElvisโ€ฆ Elvis, let go!โ€

His terrifying form was a harbinger of violence. A demonic voice whispered, โ€œElvis, squeeze harder. As long as she disappears, youโ€™ll be free!โ€

His handsome eyes narrowed. His head throbbed, his body felt like it was splitting. โ€œOlive, I shouldnโ€™t spoil you. Youโ€™ve tortured me with your love. Iโ€™ll make you disappear now!โ€ He clenched his hand.

Oliveโ€™s pupils dilated, then constricted. She clawed at his arm, her fingernails drawing blood. She was dying.

Then, a childโ€™s voice cut through the tension: โ€œDad, let go of Mom!โ€

Lilโ€™ Nathan had arrived. Elvisโ€™s tall, handsome body trembled; his scarlet eyes cleared. โ€œDad, Mom canโ€™t breathe! Let go!โ€ Nathanโ€™s bright eyes and firm tone commanded, โ€œStop! Now!โ€

Elvis looked at Oliveโ€™s blood-red face, her pupils losing focus. What was he doing? He released her.

Oliveโ€™s body slumped, and she gasped for breath. A tear choked her.

โ€œMom! Mom, are you okay?โ€ Nathan patted her back.

Olive felt sheโ€™d escaped death, narrowly avoiding hell at Elvisโ€™s hands. Then, Nathanโ€™s voice: โ€œMomโ€ฆ Momโ€ฆโ€

Oliveโ€™s eyelashes fluttered. โ€œNathan, youโ€ฆ what did you just call me?โ€

Nathan realized his mistake. His worry had been evident. โ€œMom, I know youโ€™re not Miss Fairy. Youโ€™re my Mom!โ€

Olive gasped, unprepared for his revelation. Her heart softened. โ€œYes, Nathan. Iโ€™m your Mom!โ€ She pulled him into her lap.

Mother and son embraced. Elvisโ€™s face darkened further. Olive, pale and red, bore the marks of his violence. His hands trembled. This was the woman he loved, yet heโ€™d hurt her. But remembering her actions, his heart hardened. She'd asked for it.

โ€œNathan, come here. Sheโ€™s not your mom. She doesnโ€™t love you!โ€

Olive hugged Nathan tightly, fearing Elvis would snatch him away. โ€œElvis, can we not discuss this in front of Nathanโ€ฆ?โ€

โ€œAfraid? Olive, what are you afraid of? Afraid Iโ€™ll tell Nathan about your heartless actions three years ago?โ€

Olive shook her head, tears welling. Three years of torment, the ordeal of giving birth to triplets after nearly dyingโ€ฆ โ€œNo, thatโ€™s not it. Elvis, you donโ€™t know anything!โ€

Elvisโ€™s gaze was cold. โ€œI know enough. Stop pretending.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not, Elvis! Did you know that for three years, Iโ€ฆโ€ She was ready to confess.

But Elvis cut her off, unwilling to listen. He turned to Nathan. โ€œNathan, I give you a choice. Dad or Mom?โ€

Oliveโ€™s pupils constricted. She hadnโ€™t expected this. Elvisโ€™s lips curled into a cold smile. โ€œOlive, you wanted a son with me, didnโ€™t you? Am I fulfilling your dream now?โ€

Heโ€™d seen through her. Olive took a breath. โ€œElvis, youโ€™re young, youโ€™ll have a wife. I donโ€™t want Nathan to live with a stepmother.โ€
