Chapter 683: Olive’s USB
Olive, unexpectedly suggested by Levi, was tasked with feeding Elvis cookies! Ivy cheered, “Yes! Yes! Mom, this cookie is so good. Give it to Dad!” Seeing the children’s innocent smiles, Olive felt embarrassed. Unable to refuse them, she looked up at Elvis and winked.
Elvis, of course, understood, but pretended otherwise. He examined the cookie, then nodded: “This looks delicious.” “Yes, Dad!” Ivy smiled. Olive…
Levi tilted his head, confused: “Mom, why don’t you let Dad eat it?”
Olive reached out, picked up the cookie, and brought it to Elvis’s thin, sensual lips. He opened his mouth and ate it. His thin, supple lips, slightly cool, brushed her soft white fingers. Olive recoiled, her snow-white earlobes flushing crimson.
Elvis watched her shy face, a delicate red rose. Oddly, though he didn’t particularly enjoy sweets, his only true sweetness was…her. Now, the cookie tasted surprisingly delicious.
A maid entered, announcing, “Sir, breakfast is ready.”
Olive, feeling uncomfortable, removed her floral apron and said, “I have some work to do, so I’ll go.”
As she left, Elvis pursed his lips, unhappy: “Where are you going? Don’t you have time for breakfast with the kids?”
That wasn’t what she meant. Didn't he want to fight for custody? She assumed he didn't want her to stay.
Elvis regretted his harsh tone the previous night. Her discouragement prevented her from approaching him. He hesitated to take the initiative, unwilling to spoil her. The situation was at an impasse.
“Don’t you want to see Nathan? He called last night, upset that you haven’t visited him in three years.”
Olive’s eyes narrowed, her heart aching. The last thing she wanted was to hurt Nathan, but she knew his background’s exposure would hurt him first.
“Where is Nathan? I’ll go see him now,” she said worriedly.
Seeing her reluctance to stay, Elvis softened slightly: “Let’s have breakfast first. Then we’ll go see Nathan together.”
Olive nodded, “Okay.”
The family ate breakfast together, but Olive had little appetite, worried about Nathan. She longed to be with him instantly.
Witnessing her anxiety, Elvis’s heart softened. The girl he once knew had become the mother of his children, and they would face their children's challenges and grow old together.
“I’ll get the documents. Wait here,” Elvis said.
Olive nodded, “Hurry.”
Elvis went to his office. Olive waited patiently. Suddenly, her phone rang—a text message.
It was from Clara Theodore.
A bad feeling washed over Olive. She opened the message: “Nathan is in my hands. Come alone!” A picture was attached: Nathan, bound, his small face slightly bruised.
Olive gasped. Nathan was with Clara, who demanded she come alone.
Olive glanced at the upstairs study, then ran out. She would rescue Nathan alone.
When Elvis emerged from the study, Olive was gone. The hallway was empty.
“Where is she?” Elvis demanded.
The maid rushed out: “Master, what’s wrong?”
Elvis looked grim, his handsome face dark. “Where did Miss Hart go?”
Terrified by his aura, the maid stammered, “Young master, Miss Hart… just left.”
She left. He'd planned to take her to their son, but she'd gone alone.
Rage consumed Elvis. He kicked a chair, shattering it. He gasped, his hand on his hip, eyes closed. Olive! He wanted to strangle her.
The doorbell rang.
The maid, frightened, opened the door. Someone stood there.
Elvis composed himself, about to order Olive’s capture, when a gentle, ethereal figure entered.
Elvis was stunned. It was Derrick Domino.
Derrick was here! Elvis had searched for him for years. Derrick was mysterious, his whereabouts unknown, yet legendary. Elvis never expected Derrick to seek him out.
Derrick, in white, looked like a handsome youth. Three years had refined his demeanor, giving him a celestial air. The maid was frozen.
Elvis’s thin lips curled into a dark, predatory smile. “Derrick, you’ve finally appeared!”
Derrick’s clear black eyes smiled slightly. “Mr. Augustine, long time no see. I wouldn’t be here otherwise.”
Elvis’s gaze was cold and imperial. “Derrick, you didn’t come to chat?”
“No, Mr. Augustine. I’m here to deliver something,” Derrick said, holding a USB drive.
“What is it?”
“Videos Olive shot in Visionary. Everything from her pregnancy to childbirth. Olive, before she fell asleep, said this USB is for you. She didn’t want you to miss any moments.”
