Chapter 694: Elvis and Olive's Wedding

As the wedding day approached, Clara grew increasingly arrogant. She phoned Molly: โ€œMom, everything is fine. I will marry Elvis. When his identity is revealed, I will be his queen, the queen of the world.โ€

Clara never forgot her ambition: to be queen.

Molly was silent for a few seconds, then cautiously asked, โ€œClara, everything seems perfect, but I feel uneasy. How has Elvis been treating you? Tell me the truth.โ€

Clara blushed and shyly replied, โ€œMom, Elvis has been kind.โ€

โ€œReally?โ€

โ€œOf course! Weโ€™re practically living together. Iโ€™ve woken up in his arms several times.โ€ Claraโ€™s implication was clear: they had slept together repeatedly. Other things could be faked, but not intimacy.

Molly smiled, relieved. โ€œClara, then I can rest easy.โ€

โ€œMom, Sadie is still under our control. I have Elvisโ€™s heart. After the wedding, weโ€™ll destroy Olive and Sadie together. No future trouble!โ€ Clara declared, her eyes filled with a ferocious intent.

Molly nodded. โ€œI think so too. Clara, focus on becoming Elvisโ€™s wife!โ€

In the blink of an eye, the wedding day arrived. The โ€œwedding of the centuryโ€ was held at the Enchanted Villa. In the banquet hall, signs displayed the names: Elvis Augustine and Olive Hart.

Clara froze. It was supposed to be her wedding to Elvis, yet the bride's sign read Olive. Everyone knew this was Elvis and Olive's wedding. Olive was about to become Mrs. Augustine!

Only then did Clara realize sheโ€™d been nothing more than Oliveโ€™s shadow, feeling as though she were attending Elvis and Olive's wedding alone.

Clara quickly dismissed these unsettling thoughts. She had woken up in Elvisโ€™s arms that morning; his tenderness couldnโ€™t have been feigned. A man like Elvis wouldnโ€™t touch a woman he didnโ€™t desire.

Clara entered the bridal dressing room and put on her Bridal Fantasy gown, adorned with flowers and rhinestones. The makeup artist exclaimed, โ€œWow, Miss Hart, youโ€™re stunning! Youโ€™re the most beautiful bride in the world tonight.โ€

Clara twirled in the mirror, the diamonds and flowers accentuating her beauty. She looked like a peony in full bloom. Today, she would marry Elvis and become Mrs. Augustine!

Clara pursed her lips in a triumphant smile. She had finally achieved her goal. She would have the last laugh.

She won. Olive was defeated.

The makeup artist excitedly announced, โ€œMiss Hart, Mr. Augustine is here! The groom has arrived!โ€

Standing at the window, Clara lifted the curtains. Outside, amidst a profusion of flowers, Elvisโ€™s tall, straight figure caught her eye instantly.

He wore a bespoke black suit, impeccably tailored, his neatly styled hair parted on the side, highlighting his sharp features. He was undeniably handsome.

Several businessmen spoke to him; he casually listened, one hand in his pocket, exuding an air of refined elegance and indifference.

Clara was captivated. She had fallen in love with this cold, aloof, powerful man from the moment she first saw him. Today, she would finally be with him. She would be his queen.

Clara breathed deeply. Elvis looked up, their eyes met. Clara felt a blush rise, while Elvis remained cold and distant.

Her heart skipped a beat. Why did he look at her so coldly? This morning he had been gentle. In an instant, he seemed to have transformed.

Was it a hallucination?

A voice announced, โ€œBride, the auspicious hour has arrived. You may proceed.โ€

Clara dismissed her doubts, concluding she was overthinking. Elvis treated her well; Sadie was in their hands; Olive wouldnโ€™t dare interfere. Everything was proceeding as planned. Today, she would marry Elvis and make every woman envious. Besides, his coldness was to be expected.

Clara offered a radiant smile. โ€œOkay, Iโ€™m ready.โ€

She stepped outside. Her phone rangโ€”it was Molly. Unfortunately, Clara had left her phone in the dressing room. Molly called repeatedly, likely with important news. But Clara missed the calls, the melodic ringtone echoing in the empty room.

At the wedding ceremony, noble ladies showered Clara with compliments.

โ€œThe bride is so beautiful!โ€

โ€œSheโ€™ll marry the worldโ€™s biggest tycoon and become the first lady! She'll support us greatly in the future.โ€

Clara smiled, feeling on top of the world. She approached Elvis, โ€œElvisโ€ฆโ€

She reached for his arm, but he pulled away, preventing her touch. Claraโ€™s hand froze, mortified.

The ladies noticed. Their expressions changed; they whispered amongst themselves:

โ€œWhatโ€™s happening? Mr. Augustine wonโ€™t let the bride touch him?โ€

โ€œHe doesnโ€™t seem happy at all today.โ€

Clara was stunned, unsure of Elvisโ€™s behavior. Surrounded by onlookers, his actions left her humiliated.

โ€œElvis,โ€ Clara forced a strained smile, โ€œI believe itโ€™s time. The wedding may begin.โ€

A premonition of disaster washed over her as she urged the wedding forward.
