Chapter 699: Putting On His Wedding Dress (3)
With Elvisโs promise, Damien stepped down. Elvis looked at Olive; their eyes met. He raised his thin lips and said in a low, charming voice, โOlive, are you here?โ A gentle whirlpool quickly formed in Oliveโs red eyes. She nodded. โWell, Iโm here. You did it on purpose, right?โ
Elvis held her hands. โYes, thereโs no such thing as a fake wedding today. This wedding is real. This wedding is mine and yours. Olive, I still owe you a wedding.โ Heโd taken his time, planning the entire day.
โButโฆ didnโt you say you canโt forgive me?โ
โOlive, I already know.โ
โKnow what?โ
โI know everything. I know about your life these past three years. Olive, Iโm sorry, Iโm late. When you needed me most, I couldnโt be by your side.โ Tenderness and distress laced his low voice. Olive shivered. She hadnโt known he knew. She had been strong, pretending she wasnโt in pain, wasnโt afraid. Giving birth, sheโd believed she could face loneliness and death calmly, alone.
But hearing his distressed, reproachful voice, her grievances softened, and helplessness surged. Before Elvis Augustine, sheโd thought she could handle any scoundrel, but since meeting him, sheโd become timid, soft, dependent. His arms were always so comforting; she always longed to lie in his embrace. Elvis looked at her reddened eyesโshe was so pitiful.
He slowly knelt, taking a ring from his trousers pocket. โOlive, may I propose to you now?โ
โI prepared a speech, but I forgot. Itโs our first proposal, and Iโm a little nervous, so I hope you can forgive me.โ
โOlive, the first time we met on the train in Los Angeles, over four years ago, I fell in love with you at first sight. Before you, I never considered what kind of girl I wanted. After meeting you, I realized you fulfilled all my imaginings. I like everything about you.โ
โBecause I like you, I donโt want to break up with you. Because I like you, I want a relationship with you. Because I like you, today, I want to make a lifetime promise to you. In the future, we will never part. You are my life. Nothing can replace you. I will hold your hand tightly and lead you to the end of the world.โ
Oliveโs eyes moistened; tears rolled down her cheeks. Mr. Augustine was actually proposing. She was probably the only person in the world who could make Elvis kneel. The wedding hall was silent. Everyone heard Elvisโs low, charming voice.
โAwwwwwn!โ Someone in the audience exclaimed, followed by applause. Tonightโs moon was beautiful. Olive slowly offered her hand. โMr. Augustine, no matter what happens in the future, Iโll accompany you to the end of time.โ This was her promise.
Elvis slipped the ring onto her finger. Suddenly, Joyceโs frightened voice yelled, โAnnabelle! Annabelle!โ Elvis paused; Olive quickly turned. Annabelle, moments before with Joyce, was gone.
โMummy, whatโs going on? Whereโs Aunt Annabelle?โ Olive immediately left the stage.
โAnnabelle was just here. I was watching your proposal; I didnโt notice her. In the blink of an eye, she disappeared,โ Joyce explained.
Alpha approached, his dark eyes sharp. โNo need to look for her. Someone took Annabelle. Sheโs disappeared.โ No one expected the wedding of the century to end so unexpectedly.
Elvis glanced at Peterson. โEvacuate the guests first. Levi, Nathan, whoever took your grandmother, Iโll leave it to you two to investigate.โ
โDonโt worry, Daddy, this person actually kidnapped Grandma right under our noses! Heโs brave. Weโll teach him a lesson,โ Levi assured.
Everyone went to the VIP lounge. This was Nathan and Leviโs first team-up. The two quickly tracked a black nanny car.
โDaddy, Mummy, I found her. This nanny car took Grandma away.โ Olive saw the license plate and raised her eyebrows. โKing Liam! This is the Royal Palace car. The King of Gold City, Liam, secretly took Aunt Annabelle.โ
โLiam?โ Elvis asked, his eyes conveying an evil aura. โWhy did he secretly take my mother away?โ
Elvis didnโt know, but Olive suspected. She went to the window, gazing at the distant sky. Liam had apparently discovered Anabelleโs identity. Sheโd always wanted to protect the mystery of Elvisโs past, but it was unraveling. Greenland and Visionary were locked in a bloody feud. Where would she and Elvis go? The interrupted wedding felt ominous.
Elvis approached, looking at Olive. โOlive, whatโs wrong? Do you know something? Are you hiding something from me?โ
Olive knew she couldnโt hide it. She looked at Elvis, then Alpha, his gloomy eyes fixed on her. She said softly, โUncle, do you know who Aunt Annabelle is? Aunt Annabelle isnโt the daughter of the Midas family. Sheโs the eldest Princess of Greenland.โ
