Chapter 700: Identity

Regarding Annabelle’s true identity, both Alpha and Elvis were unaware. Alpha immediately pursed his thin lips; the fifty-year-old man's face remained impassive. Elvis frowned, asking, “Olive, are you serious?”

She nodded. “The child’s blood is the incarnation of the true King of Greenland; in the future, he will rule the world.”

Olive’s words silenced the room. The current situation clearly deviated from its expected course.

Alpha then said quietly, “Elvis, go to the Gold City palace and bring your mother back.”

They all proceeded to the Gold City Royal Palace, where their arrival had been anticipated. The butler offered a respectful welcome. Annabelle sat on the sofa in the living room, a cup of coffee in her hand.

“Mom,” Elvis called upon entering.

Annabelle rose quickly, “Elvis, you’re here.”

Elvis took Annabelle’s hand, shielding her behind him. He narrowed his eyes, looking at Liam. “King Liam, why did you secretly take my mother? Explain yourself.”

Liam smiled and waved. “Mr. Augustine, there’s no need for misunderstanding. I merely invited my aunt for tea.”

“Aunt?”

“Yes. Mr. Augustine, are you unaware your mother is my father’s sister, the eldest Princess of Greenland? It’s only natural I call her aunt. And I’d like to address President Augustine as ‘big brother.’”

Liam produced a DNA paternity test from his pocket. Olive examined the certificate, smiling. “King Liam, you’re quite efficient,” she remarked.

Liam had suspected Olive since Annabelle’s foster mother’s death; his suspicions proved correct.

“No matter how fast I am, I can’t match Princess Olive,” Liam replied.

Olive chuckled, dropping the subject. “Then let’s not trouble King Liam further. We’ll take Aunt Annabelle back.”

“Aunt,” Liam addressed Annabelle urgently, “You are our Royal Princess of Greenland. Why not remain at my Royal Palace for a time before moving to the Princess Residence?”

Annabelle paused, looking at Liam, about to speak when a deep, magnetic voice interrupted. “We appreciate King Liam’s kindness, but aside from her Royal Highness status, she is still my wife. I shall take her home now.”

Annabelle looked up at Alpha. He wore a simple black shirt and trousers, a powerful, wealthy man of fifty. He approached, stood before her, and extended his hand to escort her home. Liam nodded. “Very well, Uncle.”

Alpha took Annabelle’s hand and left with her. As Elvis and Olive prepared to depart, Liam said, “Mr. Augustine, please remain. I have something to discuss.”

Elvis stopped. Olive showed no surprise; Liam, now aware of Elvis’s background, undoubtedly had something to say, and was wary of her.

“Excuse us,” Olive said with a slight nod.

Elvis nodded and whispered, “Wait outside. We’ll go home together.”

“Okay.” Olive left.

After Olive’s departure, Elvis looked at Liam. “King Liam, what is it?”

“I believe Princess Olive informed you of your background beforehand. President Augustine, you possess the blood of a child and are the true ruler of Greenland.”

“So?”

“Is it that President Augustine doesn’t wish to ascend the throne and rule the world?”

Elvis shook his head. “I haven’t considered it, and I have no desire to.”

Liam stood calmly, slowly unfurling a scroll depicting the entirety of Greenland. “Under our father’s rule, kings and lords rebelled repeatedly. The people suffered greatly. Years ago, a wandering monk prophesied the birth of Greenland’s true ruler, one who would end these troubled times and bring peace and prosperity.”

Elvis gazed at the magnificent landscape before him, remaining silent for a long time.

“Mr. Augustine, there’s something else. Greenland and Visionary are locked in an ancient feud. Visionary’s ancestor’s blood stained the river, and it remains unwashed. Only Princess Olive of Visionary can cleanse it. A relationship between you two is impossible.”

Elvis’s thin lips curved into a sarcastic, cool smile. “I can’t leave her, can I?”

Liam was taken aback. Elvis scoffed, then departed.

Thomas emerged, whispering, “King Liam, do you believe Elvis will ascend the throne?”

Liam nodded firmly. “Yes, because he carries the blood of a child within him, and Greenland is his destiny.”

“King Liam, what are your feelings toward Princess Olive?” Thomas asked, instantly regretting it. Liam’s years on the battlefield suggested mere charm wouldn't sway him.

Liam pursed his lips. “Don’t raise that topic again.”

Thomas watched Liam leave, sighing inwardly. The relationship between Greenland and Visionary remained strained. Greenland’s ancestor had slain Visionary’s, who died in a pool of blood, leaving a prophecy: a century later, Visionary would have a daughter, the most beautiful in the world. That daughter was Olive. Greenland’s princes had all fallen for her.
