Chapter 739: Sing My Love To You
Molly stared at Olive, horror etched on her face. She suddenly understood: her exposure had also revealed the Mermen's infiltration of the Augustine family.
โNo, itโs not like that, Olive. I only wanted to retaliate,โ Molly insisted, โDonโt overthink it!โ
Olive playfully winked. โWhat? Afraid?โ
โAfraid? Of what?โ Molly retorted incredulously.
Olive smiled knowingly. โBecause of you, the entire merman operation is exposed. Years of hard work, careful planningโall ruined. Without Lily, youโre nothing. What are you afraid of?โ
Molly gasped, her horror deepening.
Olive, having more pressing matters, dismissed Molly. Turning to Alpha, she said, โUncle Augustine, keep a close watch on Molly and Lily. This is far from over. I need to investigate thoroughly, but seeing Aunt Bounty is my priority.โ
Alpha nodded and instructed Aiden, โHandle it.โ
Aiden nodded, his respect for Olive evident.
Together, Olive and Alpha walked toward the ward. Alphaโs lips curved with interest. โRory? Didnโt you bring him back?โ
Olive smiled enigmatically.
Alphaโs gaze was distant. โRoryโs a shrinking tortoise. He wouldnโt dare return. He's protecting himself; I doubt you could bring him back.โ
Reaching the ward door, Olive paused, her bright eyes sparkling. โUncle Alpha, Iโm afraid Iโll disappoint you. I already brought Rory back.โ
Alpha was stunned.
Olive opened the ward door and entered. Nathan looked up at his grandfather. โGrandfather, you lost.โ
Alpha fondly touched Nathanโs head. โOkay, your mummy is amazing; your mummy is the best.โ
Inside, Alplia entered as Olive put away her gold needle. The heart monitor showed Bountyโs vitals were stable. She had regained her breathing and heartbeat, but her face was pale, and she remained unconscious.
Alpha whispered, โWhen will Bounty wake up?โ
Olive covered Bounty with a blanket and shook her head. โAunt Bountyโs health is fine now. The merman poison is gone, but sheโs exhausted. When she wakes up depends on her.โ
The ward door opened again. Rory, unseen by Alpha for years, stood there.
Rory and Bounty had once been a perfect match.
Rory approached Bountyโs bed, his trembling fingers touching her cold hand. He lowered his head, choked with sorrow.
Alpha glared at Rory.
But Oliveโs hand intervened, blocking Alphaโs path.
Alpha looked at Olive, who slowly shook her head. He then looked back at Bounty, whose eyes glistened with unshed tears. Alphaโs clenched fist relaxed.
Olive addressed Rory. โMr. Louie, youโve taught and mentored many successful children. But have you been redeemed? I brought you back so you can save someone you should have saved years ago, but refused to. Perhaps only by saving her can you save yourself.โ
The dim light illuminated Oliveโs serious expression. Roryโs shoulders slumped; he wept silently.
Alpha left the hospital, the cold wind whipping his coat. He heard approaching footstepsโOlive.
Without turning, he whispered, โHow did you bring Rory back?โ
Olive stood beside him. โItโs simple. The longer someone stays in their shell, the less they want to leave. The only way is to break the shell, leaving them nowhere to hide.โ
Alpha turned, looking at Olive. โYouโre incredibly bold.โ
โThank you, Uncle Alpha,โ she replied.
Bodyguards brought Molly forward. Olive said, โUncle Alpha, Iโll take Molly.โ Alpha pursed his lips. โGive her to me. This concerns the Augustine familyโs past; you may not know the full story.โ
Olive tilted her head. โUncle Augustine, youโre invincible to others, but before Aunt Bounty, you shed your armor. The Mermen played a masterful game, using love as their guise.โ
Alphaโs gaze locked on Oliveโs. He remained silent.
Then, a deep voice cut through the stillness. โItโs late. Strangers might think you two are discussing romance.โ
Olive spun around. Under the dim streetlight stood Elvis.
