Chapter 62: Swipe His Card
โWhere did you guys kiss?โ North asked, her eyes shining with joy.
โJust up to the neck,โ Olive replied shyly.
North was surprised. โOlive, Elvis is mature and abstinent. A manโs maturity isnโt just about manners; itโs also about wealth, power, and status. Most importantly, it's about his sexual prowess.โ
Olive smiled timidly.
โI think Elvis understands; heโs just waiting for the perfect time,โ North added.
Olive remained silent. She knew there was no arguing with North once she started one of her speeches.
North saw the love in Oliveโs bright eyes and wasn't surprised. It was hard not to be captivated by someone like Elvis. She remembered the way he looked at Oliveโlike a man gazing at his beloved.
North suddenly thought of Pamela. โOlive, whatโs the relationship between Elvis and Pamela? Did you ask him?โ
โI did. He said Pamela saved his life once, so heโs returning the favor,โ Olive replied, settling onto the couch.
Northโs brow furrowed. โPamela doesnโt seem like the type to save anyone. Let me guessโshe orchestrated an attack on Elvis Augustine, then appeared as his savior.โ
Olive admired North's ability to sniff out a story. North was quick to pick up on even the slightest hint.
North turned to Olive. โWhat about the man you saved? Why didnโt you save Elvis?โ
โI think Iโll have to ask my seven-year-old self,โ Olive replied.
North frowned. โOlive, I feel like Pamelaโs hiding something. After you left LA, why did she become such a medical genius? And how did she save the prominent Elvis Augustine?โ
Olive felt Pamelaโs rapid medical advancement was connected to her mother's death and her grandfather's coma, but it remained a mystery. As for saving Elvis, she truly didn't know; Elvis hadnโt told her. Her intuition told her he was protecting her, as her savior.
Olive worried that Elvis saw Pamela as his savior. She wasnโt ready to share him, not even with Pamela.
Ericaโs hired chef had prepared a delicious dinner. After eating, Olive showered and dried her hair. Looking downstairs, she spotted Elvisโs Rolls-Royce Phantom. He hadnโt left.
Olive lowered the blinds.
North emerged from the bathroom. โOlive, President Augustine gave Pamela 1.2 million, right? How much did he give you?โ
Olive paused. โWhat?โ
โOh, my poor Olive. From a manโs perspective, the amount he gives a woman shows how much he loves her. Elvis wouldnโt have given you less, right?โ
Olive remembered Elvisโs black card. Sheโd never used it, but it was still in her bag. โUh, he gave me a card. Hang on, I think itโs in here.โ She rummaged through her bag and pulled out the black and gold card, handing it to North.
North inhaled sharply, staring at the inscription โAugustine.โ โThis card controls all of Elvisโs assets. He gave Pamela 1.2 million, but he gave you the entire Augustine family fortune. Youโve made a fortune!โ
Olive was unaware of the cardโs power. Heโd given Pamela a pittance, but her a vault. She felt a surge of happiness.
โOlive, letโs go shopping tomorrow! Boss Augustineโs money is in our hands!โ
Olive started to protest, but North stopped her. โOlive, Mr. Augustine has plenty of money. Donโt worry about it. Besides, didnโt he spend a fortune on Pamela? Youโre his wife, Oliveโฆโ
Elvis remained downstairs. He felt sleepy, texted Olive goodnight, and thenโฆ
Olive was already asleep when the message arrived. She didn't see it.
While waiting for a reply, Elvis looked at the mark Olive had left on his arm. After a while, he dialed a number. A low, pleasant voice answered. โWhy are you calling at night?โ It was Raven.
Elvis lit a cigarette. He exhaled slowly. โCan you still remember two years ago, when you were locked up in a dark, windy room?โ
